RIGID HEDDLE WEAVERS A two day Rigid Heddle Inspirational workshop by Bonnie Brooks on all the techniques you can do on a rigid heddle is still pending and will be scheduled for this fall. Watch for the date. Bonnie has woven a wonderful sampler with all the techniques & weaving structures possible on a rigid heddle with a variety of lace patterns, inlay, supplementary warps & wefts, tapestry, saori weaving, waffle weave and many more techniques. Living History Encampment July 5th through 14th at

7 mile Chena Hot Springs Road 1002 Smallwood Road @ Happy Trails Farm

We will be recreating the time period of revolutionary war thru the 1840s (just prior to the civil war). We will be camping

in canvas tents, wearing period correct clothing, shooting black powder muzzleloaders, and sharing our knowledge of the crafts done during this time period. They are looking for anyone interested in doing a natural dye demonstration or

willing to help set up to show Jennifer. Jennifer’s suggestion for a time would be around 2:00pm on Friday July 13

th and or

2:00pm on Saturday July 14th, which is the last day of the

encampment. Anyone interested in demonstrating

dyeing/weaving should contact Jennifer at (907)590-4780 or email her: [email protected]

Calypso's Open House Sunday, July 14th

Noon - 4 pm.

We are inviting spinners to come up and demonstrate spinning

during the event. You'd be welcome to sit & demonstrate spinning. We will also have some activities set up for you to do with kids if you'd like to. I've got spinning wheels and wool

for you to spin. You are also more than welcome to bring your own wheel if you'd like! You can come for part or all of
