A coal fire, an anvil, and the knocking of hammers; it might seem that we live in the past. In one sense this is true, because the forging tools by the Sneeboer family , has a solid history.

Our grandfather, Arie, started the company back in 1913 in the small town of Bovenkarspel. He always maintained that `if you are going to do something, make sure that you do it well`.

This simple philosophy not only served him well, but continues to be fundamental to our work today. We still adhere to traditional, artisan methods of production, hand-forging the best stainless steels and using the very finest woods.

expect different styles, a mix of garden ideas and lots of spring flowers blooming when you visit the Puutarhojen loisto. The idea behind the open gardens in Loviisa is to create an atmosphere around meetings in the gardens, new inspiration and conversations you can have over a cup

of tea. Even your own private thoughts need feeding, not just your plants... come and see the flourishing tulips.

The new botanicals

Many gardeners are rediscovering the charm of growing species tulips & daffodils. The botanical tulips are the very first of the tulips to flower in your garden, so it makes sense to grow them near your front door. In the wild you can find their origins in faraway mountain areas, where the winters are harsh but summers are baking hot. Try to mimick this by putting them in your sunniest/driest spot when you plant them in your garden in autumn.
