BINDER CHECK THIS WEEK

1. Agenda: Students will copy the weekly agenda in their planner. Teacher will go over important dates for the week: Knowsys Quiz, Outside Reading, Library Day, and Assessments.

2. REVISING-EDITING -- Students will read authentic written selections and choose grammatical corrections in spelling, usage, capitalization, punctuation, etc.

3. Knowsys Introduction of Group 14: Teacher will review each word: pronunciation, part of speech, connotation, definition, and sentence. Students will engage in discussion of word and write down word and definition in their composition book.

4. DISCUSSION A Christmas Carol: Students will be using guided reading questions, ARG, to facilitate discussions at their groups, whole and small, and focusing on the elements of conflict, character change, and resolution, as well as connecting to our real-world of today with the situations – poverty, wealth, desire, tradition.

1. How are historic, cultural, economic, religious, and ethnical aspects of a society reflected in a drama?

2. What is drama and what literary elements (i.e., plot, theme, character, setting, point of view) are utilized in drama?
