n June 2, the Class of 2013 celebrated the culmination of four fantastic years on top of the Hill. Much of the day followed tradition—the ceremony took place on Crane Field and the graduates wore long white gowns and carried bouquets of red roses. Katy Sadler delivered the commencement address, and valedictorian Tara Kawai-Daniels ’13 and salutatorian Lauren Kean ’13 also took turns at the podium. When asked to describe the Class of 2013, Sadler chose the following words: “Kind, joyous, inspirational,

“I preach care by lending new boarding students my shoulder and sharing their sorrow. I comforted
the new boarding students who were homesick and had a hard time adjusting. I spoke about my
experience and shared my growth with them, which encouraged them.”
“I preach truth when I write meaningful articles for the school newspaper that have some kind of
message or purpose. I preach kindness when I help my friends with their homework and by treating
everyone with equal respect.”
