It has been my honor and privilege to serve as your Commander over the past year. During the year we had many things that needed repair such as the sign and awnings. We replaced the air conditioner in the Commander’s office as well as the computer. The canteen has all new filters in the smoke handlers which is awesome for the membership to know and an exhaust fan has been installed which also helps remove smoke from that area.

General maintenance and upkeep is a tremendous job at the VFW Post 2093. I want to

thank the people from the Ladies and the Men’s Auxiliaries with which the post could not operate without. I tried to be here during the day and night to keep an eye on things, making sure the wheels were running smoothly. Please support your new commander. He needs all your help.

Thank you so much.

Jim Pope First Infantry Go Army!

Chaplain’s Corner Thought for the day!

Our wisdom comes from our experiences. Our experience comes from our foolishness.

Prayers go out to the family and friends of Vincent Black (Vinnie) for he was called to his heavenly home. May he rest in peace. Remember our service men and women wherever they may be fighting for our freedom. God speed them safely home to family and friends awaiting their return. Pray for our country and the decisions that are made. These decisions affect each one of us daily.

Pray for our newly elected officers as they go forth with new ideas. Support them and be on hand to help out when asked.

This is YOUR Post.

If you know of anyone in the hospital or rehab or who has passed on to their heavenly home, please let me know by calling the Canteen or my home at (407) 629-5808. If there is no answer, leave a message and I will return the call quickly. Respectfully,

Sam Ramsey VFW Post 2093 Chaplain

Our Goals For the Kitchen

We are trying to make our VFW kitchen serviceable for everyday and rent-al use to help generate more interest and revenue. We are currently trying to add a full menu for our VFW family to enjoy in addition to the regular cooking events. Fish-N-Chips, Nachos and Sloppy Joes are among the options being considered for regular menu items at this time. Taco Tuesday is also be thought about. Thank you!

Your Kitchen Staff,

Frog & Maggie, Bob & Mikey Yingst, Mike Sharpless, and Shirley Colburn

Notes From the President’s Desk

Men’s Auxiliary Thank You Men’s Auxiliary members. This is my last bulletin letter and all I am going to ask is that you give your support to incoming President Harry Wright. Parrotville was a success and steak nights are still going strong. We are looking for any skilled and unskilled members to help bring the Post back into shape. Ask when you will be needed for any job that can be done.

Thanks Again,

‘Cigar’ Steve “Go Air Force”

Well ladies, we are about to come to another year end. We accomplished and met our goals that we set out to do. Making Allstate!!! You ladies ROCK. How awesome are you all? Thanks for making this happen with me. I am very proud to say I am President of the Ladies Aux. Post 2093. Now to start another new year, we have installed a couple of new officers. Give them the support and help they may need. I know I was so grateful for the help that Nancy, Carol and Debbie gave to me my first year as President and they will be as appreciative as well.

Ladies, I still need to fill the chairmanship of Youth. This is not a hard job only three times a year do we do something special for our kids, but it is a very important one. So please if you’re interested in taking this on let me know.

Remember we now have a Chaplains Corner in our section of the newsletter. If you have anything to put in there please let Carol Hulvey know.

Hopefully many of you will be able to attend the Department Convention it is located right here in our backyard. It is a great time to learn more about the programs that we participate in through the VFW and meet new friends. I hope to see all there.

Ladies we now have a new regime coming in as officers on the Post side. Show your respect and lets be on board to help them when needed. Remember if it was not for the VFW, we ladies would not be here. Yes, we do a lot here but we are here only because THEY are here.

We have a change in the newsletter staff

beginning with this one. Welcome Doris and Paula. Thank you for taking this venture on. If you need to put anything in please see them. Information will need to be to them by Wednesday after the Post and Ladies Aux. Meetings. If it is not there, it will not be put in.

Thank you Wendy for doing a great job over the past year. We appreciate all the time and effort that you have put into it. Now you have a bigger job to care for.

Ladies, thinking ahead for the Veterans Day Parade, Nancy has suggested that we use little wagons to pull around filled with candy to toss to the kids. This is a great idea. No running back and forth to the truck for a refill. So we are looking to have about three of these. It does not matter the color or shape it’s in just as long as it rolls, new or used. We will decorate for the occasion. They could also use them for the Christmas Parade, so please if you have one of these available let Nancy or Jani know.

I am here for each and everyone of you should you need me for any reason.

Our next meeting will be June 16, 2015. I hope to see all there. We will be installing Debbie McCollum and Cindy Stull as they were unable to be there on Installation Day.

Respectfully Submitted, Jani Ramsey Proudly Serving as President Ladies Auxiliary Post 2093
