Several students participated in a seven-week travel book publishing program. The structure of this class
was divided into two three-week courses with a week in between to research on site. During this time the
students spent five days in Versilia where they were assigned to take hundreds of pictures a day and to
record daily journals. The goal for this group project was to complete a travel guidebook for the year 2010.
This travel guidebook will be an addition to the collection of books published through Ingorda. Palazzi founder,
Gabriella Ganugi, established Ingorda in 2008 and its primary objective is providing a viable publishing coun-
terpart to Palazzi’s academic vision. Ingorda’s mission is to put into print infinite topics for voracious readers
who are hungry to learn.
Versilia is a beautiful area located in the northern region of Tuscany. Art, history, beaches, and cuisine all
come to mind when thinking of the Tuscan culture. The Versilian coastline is famous for its golden sandy
beaches, for its majestic mountainous terrain, and the area around Lucca for its gentle hills, olive groves
and vineyards. Also, Versilia is the home for one of the most unusual traditional Italian foods, Lardo di Colon-
nata. This is a type of cured pork fat, which comes from the villages of Colonnata, high up in the Apuan Alps
in Northern Tuscany.
As you enter this art exhibition you will get an overview of Versilia from the eye of the photographers. The
photos capture surreal moments in time. They highlight hidden treasures from up on the hills and around
the luring corners of the cities streets.

introduction
Alcuni studenti extraeuropei del consorzio accademico Palazzi - Florence Association for Interna-
toscana vengono subito in mente arte, storia, spiagge e cucina.
