UW-Stevens Point Department of Theatre & Dance
By Frank Winters October 13-15, 18-21 in the STUDIO THEATRE
Directed by Stephen Trovillion Smith A group of college students finds video of what looks like a rape at a party they attended. Was
the rapist somebody they know? Does someone in the group know more than they’re willing to admit? As the group argues whether they should call the cops or delete the file it becomes clear
that everyone has something to lose.
Book and Lyrics by Eric Idle Music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle
November 10-12, 15-18 in JENKINS THEATRE Directed by Mark Hanson
Music Direction by Alan Patrick Kenny Choreographed by Jeannie HillLovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL,
SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful show girls? The 2005 Broadway production won 3 Tony Awards
including “Best Musical” and received 14 Tony Award nominations. “[Spamalot] exploits about every opportunity that a piece of musical theater can offer, all the while laughing
at itself for being a musical.” - Star Telegram

By Mary ZimmermanMarch 2-4, 8-10 in JENKINS THEATRE
Directed by Alan Patrick KennyOriginally devised at Chicago’s Lookingglass Theatre Company by Mary Zimmerman,
Metamorphoses brings the familiar tales of Roman poet Ovid to stunning theatrical life. Set in and around a pool of water onstage, Metamorphoses brings vibrant physicality to timeless
mythological stories of love, loss, and transformation. Nominated for three 2002 Tony Awards, including Best Play, Metamorphoses mingles ancient archetypes with contemporary vernacular
to create what Time called “the theater event of the year.”
Gorgeous dancing, inspiring premieres!April 13-15, 19-21 in JENKINS THEATRE
Join us to see exciting new work by faculty choreographers Michael Estanich, Jeannie Hill, Joan Karlen and a renowned guest artist.
Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim Book by George Furth
May 4-6, 9-11 in STUDIO THEATRE Directed by Tyler Marchant
Music Direction by Mark HansonOn the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor Robert contemplates his unmarried
state. Over the course of a series of dinners, drinks and even a wedding, his friends – “those good and crazy people [his] married friends” – explain the pros and cons of taking on a spouse.
The habitually single Robert is forced to question his commitment to bachelorhood during a hilarious array of interactions. From musical theatre’s most renowned composer, Company is largely regarded as a trailblazer of the dark-comedy, modern-musical genre and the winner of
seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Lyrics and Best Book.
