Introduction

Vancouver insists upon specific punctuation and capitalisation that cannot always be imposed by an Endnote or Endnote Basic style.

When entering details in EndNote, it is important that the data is entered in the correct fields to ensure that the reference can be formatted correctly in the Vancouver style.

When importing references from databases, a user may be required to slightly edit the imported record in Endnote.

For specific reference types, this guide will:

• list the EndNote Reference Type to select

• list the EndNote record fields that must be completed in order to allow the reference to be formatted correctly

• list the data required in each field

• list any manual edits to imported records that may be required

Choose Vancouver Swansea as your style when using the instructions that follow.
