6. BACKGROUND / Uvod(Project justification /Razlozi za sprovoenje projekta)

International association of students in agriculture and related sciences (abr.IAAS) is one of the biggest associations in the world. IAAS gathers students from thefields of agriculture, biotechnology, food technology, forestry, environmentalengineering. There are ninety local committees presented worldwide at differentuniversities. The main goals of the association are exchange of knowledge, andexperience among relevant students, industry and academia through different exchangeprograms(institute and manual practice), international seminars and congresses.

This meeting will gather students from Central-East Region including Slovenia,Switzerland, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republik, Bosnia, Macedonia and Serbia. Missionof this project is to point out to importance of the role of students' associations ineducation and to improve the knowledge of environmental protection in agriculture. Themain topic of this meeting is ''Enviromental protection in agriculture by using therenewable sources of energy and organic production''.

The goal of the meethig is also getting to know the regulations of EuropeanUnion in subject of agriculture and changes that would come with membership. Studensfrom EU member states should transfer their experiance in this topic.

7. PROJECT DESCRIPTION / Opis projekta

IAAS Belgrade will host the Spring Regional Meeting of Agricultural and relatedsciences students from 24.05.2010-31.05.2010. The meeting will take place in Belgradewith a the number of visits to wine cellars and farms in Central Serbia including theOplenac Royal vineyards and Silver Lake with the visit to Djerdap hydroelectric powerstation.

It is expected the attendance of more than 50 participants, with 35 internationalstudents from 10 regional universities. The numerous workshops and lectures will be heldduring 7 days period by the relevant experts in the area, professors from Belgrade andNovi Sad University and representatives of the Ministry of agriculture, forestry andwater management.

The congress program is divided into five themes that will provide clear view of theproblems in enviromental protection in agriculture:

1. European regulations in agriculture2. Advantages of renewable sources of energy3. Organic production4.

Wine potencial of Serbia5. Importance of students associations in education.

The idea of this meeting is also humanity. We should take care about everything thatsurrounds usboth the nature and the people. Participants will bring souvenirs from theircountries which will be sold at the auction and the money will be donate together withcandies and toys to the children hospital.

Za ovaj skup obezbedjena je adekvatna medijska pokrivenost medijima od nacionalnog Ilokalnog znacaja. Takodje tokom samog skupa prisustvovace veliki domacih studenata Ipoljoprivrednih proizvodjaca.

Na ovom skupu pored studenata I farmera planirano je da kao predavaci I posetioci skupasvoje mesta zauzmu predstvnici Vladinog sektora, Diplomatskog kora, nevladnihorganizacija, privrednog sektora I drugi.

The conference will help creation of the awareness about the problems related toenvironmental protection in agriculture and provide the opportunity for students to

discuss about EU regulations in this topic.It will also contribute making contacts and exchange of experience between students,

professors, companies, farmers and media.Excursions to Central Serbia will help promotion of Serbian agritourism, especially

the wine routs.To facilitate the process of student exchange ( manual and institute practices) in the

region.

Ukupan budzet Regionalnog skupa studenata poljoprivrede iznosi: 1041652.10 RDS = $ 14164,14

Ukoliko USAID Agrobiznis prihvati da sponzorise ovaj skup ovako ce izgledati raspodela u ukupnom budzetu.
