    2. INSTALLING AND SWITCHING ON THE MACHINE

    2.1 Electrical hazard

    For safety reasons, the technician must never perform maintenance operations when the machine is connected to the power supply if such operations involve access to parts of the machine where the following 230V symbol is shown:

    This symbol is shown on the machine in places where there is a risk of electrocution.

    Only qualified maintenance personnel must work on these parts of the machine.

    2.2 Location of safety devices

    The main switch (ON-OFF) of green color is on the right face of the machine of the minalab

    3 cartridge type fuse holders protect the different power supplies. They can be found at the bottom of the minilab, on the right-hand side.

    F1 = 6 A protects the power supply to the PC, paper feed S/A and optical S/A. F2 = 10 A protects the tank card, heating element and drying unit F3 = 6 A protects the sterring pumps and replenishment pumps, scanner and exposure

    lamp.

    2.3 Installation conditions

    The MINILAB must only be used indoors and the conditions described below must be scrupulously respected.

    2.3.1 Electrical connections

    The MINILAB must be installed near a single phase 2P + Earth mains socket.

    The power socket must have a rated voltage of 230V ( + 10% , -15% )

    In order to ensure correct operation of the machine and personal safety in accordance with current standards, the earth resistance of the socket must be below 3 ohm.

    The mains socket must remain accessible once the machine has been installed. If this is not possible, an disconnecting switch must be installed upline in the installation. This switch must be easily and rapidly accessible and comply with the following characteristics : double-pole,16A, 230V.

    Provide for a 30 mA residual current device upline of the mains socket to be used for the minilab.

    This machine (class1) is designed to be connected to a system with an earthed neutral wire.

    2.3.2 Position of the machine

    The MINILAB must be installed on a flat, stable, hard, dry floor. Water must not be allowed to run or collect under the minilab when the premises are being cleaned. Special care should be taken if the machine is installed at a spa, where hydrogen ions and acid ions are generated.

    The MINILAB is not secured to the floor. In can only be moved in exceptional circumstances, and only after it has been placed on rollers. If the machine has to be moved over different levels, such as a footpath or stairs, it must be placed on its pallet. Extreme care must be taken not to knock or jolt the machine.

    The ambient temperature of the premises must be between +18 and +30 C. The temperature of the room must not drop below 13C when the machine is not in use. Relative humidity must be between 30 % and 70 %, without condensation.

    Do not install the MINILAB where it is exposed to direct sunlight (near a window) or near heating elements.

    Never place the MINILAB near sources of steam or oily fumes. The premises must be properly ventilated (centralized mechanical ventilation) and dust-free.

    The MINILAB must not obstruct passageways or public exits. Do not install the machine near stairs, escalators or lifts.

    The area needed to operate the machine includes the floor space and access to the outside doors and to the machine itself. A free area of 1 meter (39 inches) around the minilab must be respected.

    2.3.3 Water supply

    To operate the MINILAB, it is necessary to have a water supply to rinse the racks. A sink approximately 60 cm x 30 cm and 30 cm deep equipped with a good quality hot and cold water supply will meet the requirements.

    For the chemical procedures, good quality water of a hardness no greater than 20 (French standard) is necessary. The use of demineralized water is strongly recommended when preparing chemical solutions.

    External packaging: - Remove the bending ( B ) - Remove the top cover ( C ) - Open the 4 lockings of the cardboard belt ( D ) - Remove the cardboard belt ( E ) - Remove the 2 card board holding , the foam belt ( F ) - Remove the plastic cover ( G )

    - Remove the tool placed on the pallet, front of the machine ( K )

    - Unscrew and remove the two holding clamps front left (L) back right (M) located at the level of the feet of the machine :

    - Unscrew the remove the right side chevron (N)

    - Unscrew the 3 (wooden, foam) wedges located under the machine frame (O) 6 screw . - Keep the screew

    - Check that the 4 wheels under the machine are pointed to the left to make handling easier when extracting

    - Separate the wedge couple (O) using a hammer, starting with the right pair - Remove the 3 wedge couples (O) so that the machine rests on its 4 wheels

    Important : Check that the 4 feet of the machine are in high position

    - Place the guiding foams on the sides of the pallet, using the screws that are used for holding the wedges (O)

    - Unscrew the 4 screws of the wooden frame ( P ) - Raise the pallet with a pallet truck - Remove the wooden frame ( P )

    - Bring the pallet down again without shaking - Pull the machine carefully towards the right, holding it, in order to remove the pallet

    If you need to repack the machine, keep all the packaging material and use the same procedure.

    2.4.3 Assembling the machine

    Unpack the machine. Remove the panels Taking great care, remove the protective packaging from the large mirror Put

    it in place Assemble the PC support (1) Assemble the flanges of the backlighting table (2) Assemble the equipped panel (3), connect the touchscreen PCB and monitor Assemble the back panel of the PC Install the xxx Digital System panel Assemble the backlighting table (4) and connect it Assemble PC flanges (5) Position the PC (6) and connect it. Connect the bonding jumper of the PC to

    its support. Adjust the length of the mouse and keyboard wires required on the

    2.4.5 Test and ajustement with water

    2.4.6 Starting the machine

    Check that the green general power supply switch on the right hand side of the machine is in the "OFF" position

    Check that the PC switch is in position 1 Check that the Scanner switch is in position 1 Check the mains connection Switch the green general power supply switch to "ON" When the WINDOWS window is displayed, check that the connection is made

    2.4.7 While the chemicals are heating

    Entering the start-up parameters : Configure the machine : language + chemistry Check or enter densitometer calibration chart parameters. (See procedure DKS_MP_04 Adjusting the optics ) Calibrate densitometer : if parameters are modified

    2.4.9 Tests and adjustements with chemicals

    When the control temperature is reached: Calibrate the reference 102 refillable cartridge Check stability of 2nd calibration (no of tests Check that paper cutter is centered (with control values of white

    margins at 0) with the refillable cartridge. If white edges < 1.5 mm adjust with the white margin parameter of the software.

    Initial conditions : The minilab must be switched off (green switch on right-hand side of machine in Off position) and the mains power head must be disconnected Number of people : 1 Time :

    1 Dismantling

    Remove the rear left-hand panel from the machine WARNING : The lamp cap must be very hot Unscrew by hand the central screw holding the connector (1) Disconnect the bar supporting the 2 sub_D filters (2) Unscrew the flange fastening screw (3) Draw out the head by pulling it towards you (4)

    2 Reassembling

    To reassemble the exposure head, carry out the above operations in reserve order

    3- Checking or adjustement

    Make all operating adjustements and checks as described in the procedures :

    DKS_MP_03 ADJUSTEMENT OF CHEMICAL PROCESSOR => Adjusting LUT exposition => LCD stability / Validation LUT exposition

    DKS_MP_06 ADJUSTING PHOTO QUALITY => Determining the exposure head balancing filter

    1 Dismantling

    Remove the rear left-hand panel of the machine, as well as the bottom left-hand door. Unscrew the top screw of the casing and the right-hand spring fastener.

    Disconnect the control cable (on the printed-circuit board on the TFT card protective cover) (1)

    Disconnect TFT power supply and video strand (coaxial connectors and Sub_D 15 points) (2) Dismantle the exposure head (3) Disconnect power supply to the x 4 blade motor and the x 4 blade sensor (by tilting the TFT

    card forwards: unscrew the upper screws) (4) Using a 10 mm spanner, unscrew the two fastening screws (large mirror side) making sure to

    retain the two centring pins WARNING : Wear gloves to avoid leaving finger marks on the polariser Remove the block from the front (5)

    Reconnect all the cables, starting from the bottom (modem cable).
