Uploading/submitting your video with Panopto To submit your video on Blackboard using Panopto, you must first make sure your video is either recorded with Panopto or uploaded to Panopto. If you have already recorded your video with Panopto, you can skip ahead to “Changing the sharing permissions on your video”.

Navigate to the Panopto website, and login using your Blackboard credentials

Once logged in, click the ‘Create’ button at the top of the page, followed by ‘Upload media’

Click ‘Choose video or audio files’ and then find your final video file. Click this file and then click ‘Open’

The file will now upload

Once finished, close this window

After changing the sharing permissions on your video, it will be ready to be submitted.

By default, the videos you make in Panopto are private to you. In order for your video to be viewed for marking, you will have to change the sharing permissions.

On the Panopto web page, log in and navigate to your video by clicking “My Folder” on the left hand side of the page

Hover over the video in question and click “Share” to bring up the sharing permissions

Change the option to ‘Anyone with the link’ and exit the menu, confirming changes as prompted

Head to your Blackboard paper and navigate to the assignment. Click it and select ‘Write Submission’ from the following window.

In the text editor, click the ‘Mashups’ box, and select ‘Panopto Video’. (If the ‘Mashups’ box isn’t visible, click the arrow on the right to expand the text box for more options)

Select your video and click ‘Insert Videos’

Your submission will now show your video

Add any other items you wish/need to your submission, and when you are satisfied, press the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom of the page

Your assignment is now submitted
