Public Act 100-0993
“At the child's initial IEP meeting and at each annual review meeting, the child's IEP team shall provide the child's parent or guardian with a written notification that informs the parent or guardian that the IEP team is required to consider whether the child requires assistive technology in order to receive free, appropriate public education. The notification must also include a toll-free telephone number and internet address for the State's assistive technology program.”

Who Is IATP?
The Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP) is
a not-for-profit agency that promotes the availability
of assistive technology (AT) devices and services
for people with disabilities. IATP serves all people
with disabilities in the state of Illinois, their families,
service providers, state agencies, private industry,
educators, and other interested individuals,
regardless of age or income.

Individuals with temporary or permanent disabilities
secure free motorized and manual wheelchairs,
pediatric therapy equipment, canes, walkers, shower
benches and other items.
DME program has distributed more than
1,245 free pieces of durable medical equipment
to individuals across Illinois.
