TRUTH USED
OUR FALL SPIRITUAL RENEWAL ACTIVITY begins soon, and as last year, it is based on one of Unity’s time honored authors H. Emilie
Cady. She wrote three books for the Fillmores in the late 1800’s. Lessons In Truth was the basis of last year’s study and How I Used Truth is the foundation for this year, beginning October 20th and continuing for five weeks.
What is “Truth,” and how is this noun at the basis of Unity’s message? Unity’s book The Revealing Word defines it in this manner:
The Absolute; that which accords with God as divine principle; that which is, has been, and ever will be; that which eternally is...
Truth, then is the stuff that is at the core of the Nature of God, and is the law that Unity further teaches is the basis for not only the Nature of God, but our Nature as well...for the Essence of Pure Being is not something outside of us projecting into us but is the Essence of who we are and is expressing through us as us.
Internalizing these Truths and making them a vital part of our personal consciousness is the process that our fall series enhances. We encour-age you to join a group and make a commitment to the self for the five weeks. Weekly home and Unity study group sign up lists are available on Sunday mornings in front of the bookstore. FIRST SUNDAY in October starts off with a dynamite guest speaker. Inna Segal whose powerful intuitive healing process is used around the world. On first Sunday, Janice Thomas is back with her Soul Empowerment series starting at 12:30 pm. Game Time also happens at 12:30 pm.
Addiction and Family Healing class started Septem-ber 28 but each class is a stand-alone. Two more are on Saturday, October 5 and 12, 1 pm.
IONS Speaker, Friday, October 4, Sylvia Haskovitz, will present, Be The Change We Want To See. On Thurs-day, October 10, TIES Guest Speaker Series is back with Richard Martine who uses his mystical experience to fuel search for life after death.
Oktoberfest potluck and BBQ will be on the October 13. Let me know how many bratwursts you want to eat (so I can buy enough) and what delicious dish you’re bring-ing. This will be followed by the film, Grow Younger Live Longer, with Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon.
Circulation Days this year are Friday, October 18, 1-6 pm, and Saturday, October 19, 7-11 am. Friday is an opportunity for Unity folks to exchange treasures, then on Saturday, it becomes a free Yard Sale, open to the public. No money is involved, just simple abundance. Volunteers (first in line to pick and choose) start setting up at noon as Unity people donate and trade until 6 pm. On Saturday, we put out signs on River Road “FREE Yard Sale” starting at 7 am. Around 11 am the Salvation Army or Goodwill arrive to collect our leftovers. This is a good place to recycle plastic grocery bags.
Fall Renewal starts October 20. This is our annual Church wide book study. The book, Emily Cady’s How I used the Truth, is a basic storehouse of Unity teachings. As we share our beliefs we connect on a deeper level. It’s fulfilling to develop friendships that resonate on a pro-found level.
A Mini Healing Retreat (formerly Wellness Day) will be held Saturday, October 26 from 1 to 5:45 pm. This is a chance to experience healing modalities such as Aroma Therapy, Acupuncture, Massage, Family Constellation and more. You pick four for a total price of $50. Call Marcey DiCaro at 490.4149 or email [email protected] for information and required pre-registration.

Alan KatzUNITY OF TUCSON has opened up my heart and my mind to new ideas and thoughts. Along with my wife Michelle and our two daugh-ters, Shaina and Ashley, we have been attending Unity of Tucson for around 7 years—becoming members within the year of our 1st visit. Joining was not an easy decision for me at that time due to my upbringing in a very differ-ent religion, but after having personal discussions with Larry (I highly recommend utilizing both Larry & Mary Ellen’s services), I became comfortable with being a member of a church. Since that time, my wife and I have grown and changed in many ways, much due to the teachings we have read and learned about here at Unity of Tucson. We are now watching our daughters actually use the concepts they have learned in Uniteens and YOU (the children’s part of Unity of Tucson) in their life. It is incredible to see what a difference it makes! (They are now 16 & 18).
It continues to be an honor to be the Prayer Chaplain coordinator here at Unity of Tucson and I also feel it is a privilege to have been invited to be on the Board. Being the newest member of the Board at Unity of Tucson, I have found that the people on the Board all have the same goal - to be as supportive to the church, members, community and each other in an open, honest and respectful way. It is great to be around like-minded people both in the Board and in the community of Unity of Tucson!
Outside of church, I own and operate a restau-rant supply, enjoy playing racquetball, and love to hike and have adventures with my family.

TRUTH USED
OUR FALL SPIRITUAL RENEWAL ACTIVITY begins soon, and as last year, it is based on one of Unity’s time honored authors H. Emilie
Cady. She wrote three books for the Fillmores in the late 1800’s. Lessons In Truth was the basis of last year’s study and How I Used Truth is the foundation for this year, beginning October 20th and continuing for five weeks.
What is “Truth,” and how is this noun at the basis of Unity’s message? Unity’s book The Revealing Word defines it in this manner:
The Absolute; that which accords with God as divine principle; that which is, has been, and ever will be; that which eternally is...
Truth, then is the stuff that is at the core of the Nature of God, and is the law that Unity further teaches is the basis for not only the Nature of God, but our Nature as well...for the Essence of Pure Being is not something outside of us projecting into us but is the Essence of who we are and is expressing through us as us.
Internalizing these Truths and making them a vital part of our personal consciousness is the process that our fall series enhances. We encour-age you to join a group and make a commitment to the self for the five weeks. Weekly home and Unity study group sign up lists are available on Sunday mornings in front of the bookstore.
