The Challenge
Essential Question
How can we develop an instructional framework (PreK-12) to ensure that every day, in every classroom, every student in Union County Schools has a powerful learning experience?
Goal 1
Develop an instructional framework to establish a common language and shared understanding of effective teaching (high quality instruction) that creates coherence around curriculum, instruction, and student outcomes.
Goal 2
Develop an instructional framework that lays the foundation for professional conversations, classroom observations, data collection on teaching and learning, self assessment and reflection on practice, and coaching.
The Process
Steps of the Process
• Identify instructional framework components to establish a common language and shared understanding of effective teaching.
• Create an instructional framework document with clear terms, definitions, explanations, and examples of what effective teaching looks like in practice.
• Align the instructional framework with SC Teaching Standards 4.0.
• Create an instructional framework observation tool.
• Develop an implementation plan.
