Your niche is what you do, and what you are known for, that isspecific to you. Your niche will help you to stand out from other similar products andservices, it's what makes you different and unique. When you know your niche, most or all of your marketing can bedirected towards attracting your ideal client for your specific niche. When your Ideal Client knows your niche, because you marketyourself as an expert in that niche, that's what will help attract them toyou. Remember that you don't need to attract everyone, and not everyonewill want what you do. But with the right focus, a unique niche, and being irresistible to yourideal client for what you do, it's much easier to sell.

A. Nail Your Niche

What's your Niche? What's your mainproduct or serviceoffering that fits intothat niche? Who are yourcompetitors withinthis niche? How are youdifferent? What can you dobetter than them?

Hopefully all the answers on the above page overlap, and you cannarrow down what your niche is / will be. So now you need to be brave, and put yourself firmly in that niche. Become an expert at it, so that you stand out from all the rest, and sothat you are the one that people go to for that product / service. (Come back to this page after you've filled out Section B to check thisdoesn't need amending, and include your Ideal Client in your niche).

B. Understand Your Ideal Client

Your Ideal Client is known by many names:  Customer Profile,Customer Avatar, Dream Client, Target Client, Soul Customer,Super Customer, Customer Archetype, Buyer Persona, and so on(known here as Ideal Client for ease; Customer and Client beinginterchangeable depending on whether you sell products or provideservices). They all refer to the person (group of people) who is the best fitfor your business, the person who is most likely to buy from you, theperson who you want to serve/sell to, the person who is happy topay you what you're worth. Knowing as much as you can about them will help you with so muchof your business. Your business is not just about you, it is what you can do for yourIdeal Client. Your brand is not just about you; it has to appeal to your IdealClient too. Your website content, your social media posts, your ads, your blogs- all your marketing needs to appeal to your Ideal Client. Knowing them, what they like, where they hang out, will mean thatyou can write just for them, and make sure you reach them.

B. Understand Your Ideal ClientSo what is the type of person who wants your product or service?Who do you want to sell to? (Both these need to be the same!) If you need help working this out, look back at the customers youhave had already. Think about the ones that were easy to sell to,the ones you loved helping, the ones who really wanted what youhad to offer, the ones who didn't quibble about the price (if they'renot willing to pay, they are NOT your Ideal Client!). Note: This does not mean you turn down work from other people, unless you want to. It just means who you are aiming your business, brand and marketing at.

What Next? Now combine your new knowledge of your Niche, and your

Ideal Client:

Do your main offering, and your niche, serve what your ideal clientwants and needs?

Do your main offering, and niche, and all your brand and marketingmaterial, attract your Ideal Client? What can you do to make it evenmore attractive to them?

Or do you need to amend your Ideal Client? Or amend what yourniche and main offering is? (So that they do align with each other).

> Now you need to stand out from the crowd with your individualniche, and be an expert in that niche, so that you are the go-toperson for your Ideal Clients, who want what you do. > Make sure your copy everywhere is written for your Ideal Client, and that your visuals, your brand, your offering, your marketing, your content, is all aimed at your Ideal Client, and then it's far easierto sell to them. > Be clear in your messaging with what you offer, why you aredifferent, why you're the expert. Value what you do, and haveconfidence in it! > Remember that you're not right for everyone, and you don't needto sell to everyone. What makes you special, different, your niche, may put some people off, and that's ok. But you can charge whatyou're worth to the people who value you, your Ideal Clients.
