Welcome into the Catholic Church Amy Reed, who was raised in the Methodist Tradition, learned about the faith of Catholics following the baptism of her daughter last April at the Easter Vigil. Amy herself later expressed a desire to know more about our faith and joined our local RCIA group. She is now ready to be formally received into the Catholic Church. This Sunday we will welcome her into our family of faith at the 11:00 mass. We rejoice with her and will do our best to support her as she lives her Christian faith through the Catholic Tradition.

Catholic Home Mission Collection Today Your support in today’s second collection will strengthen the Church at home and help mission dioceses right here in the United States The Catholic Home Mission Appeal supports those areas of our nation that lack the resources to provide basic pastoral ministry. Thank you for your solidarity with struggling regions of the American Church. Your donation may encourage a church vocation, provide catechesis to children or give support to floundering families.

Regional Confirmation at Holy Trinity This Tuesday three of our High School Youth will be among those to be confirmed by Msgr. David Slubecky at Holy Trinity Church. They are: Alison Cortes, William Gilroy and Israel Navarro. In addition; an adult, Crystal Pacheco, will receive the Sacrament that evening. We congratulate them as well as Michael Jung, a home school student, who was confirmed by Bishop Malone at the Cathedral last week. They join five Spanish speaking adults who were confirmed at the Spanish Mass on Sunday, April 12.

Coming Soon – Mark Your Calendar! Don’t miss the Friday Night Movie and Pizza on May 15. Pizza will be served at 6:00 pm followed by the Movie, “GOD’S NOT DEAD.” Have you ever thought, ‘What do I really believe about God?’ The film features a College Student who is challenged to defend his faith and prove to his class that ‘God’s Not Dead.’ This entertaining and profound PG film is earning national attention and applause. Enjoy pizza and dessert prior to the film. This event is sponsored by the Adult Education/Faith Formation Committee and is free of charge.

May Crowning Mary, the Mother of God, has a special place in our hearts. She is that perfect disciple who welcomed the Word (Luke 1:38) and reflected upon it in her heart (Luke 2:51). We rightly give her the title “Mother of the Church” for she was the first vessel of God’s Presence anticipating the church as the bearer of the Lord in the world.

On Sunday, May 3rd

, we will honor Mary with the traditional May crowning. This will take place after communion at the 11am mass.

Parenting Perspective “Come to Christ, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of God.” (1 Peter 2:4) Sometimes one of our children may feel rejected or left out. Perhaps they are socially awkward, visually unattractive, or handicapped in some way. Share a time you felt rejected with the child.

Remember to Pray For The following who are ill:

Charles Dye Sr., Frank Gawronski Jr., Gerry Haase, Cindy Krebs, Chuck Milks, Joel Rivera, Carolyn Schmidt, David Sinclair Call us or leave an e-mail at [email protected] to include a name on this listing. A listing is normally for three weeks only. If someone should improve, please inform us so

we can remove the name.
