What Winter? - From your Editor—Debbie Ewing

If you’ve been following along, you know from past newsletters I

am not a big fan of winter. This winter, at least on the prairies, seems

more like the winter that wasn’t. Without the extreme cold and the

extra effort required to deal with tons of snow, it’s been actually

kind of enjoyable. That’s the idea behind the start of a continuing

series of articles on config options - there are so many ways to

customize agrē to work the way you do, you’re bound to find a few

that reduce your workload too.

Lesson learned this year: set up the new display for the first time in

advance so we don’t spend 4 hours figuring out how to put it

together on the tradeshow floor. Donna’s new backdrop looked

great and although the agrēMobile desk didn’t arrive with all of its

parts, Anita and Dee channeled their inner Red Green and it turns

out there’s almost nothing they can’t fix with duct tape and zip

ties. If you didn’t have a chance to stop by and say hi, please make

a point to come see us next year in beautiful Banff.

Report Criteria Favourites

Running reports with customized

criteria just got a whole lot faster!

Setup the report criteria to get the

results you want and save it as a

favourite. The next time you need to

run the same report the same way,

choose your Favourite from the drop

down menu and all the criteria are

reset to the saved values.

Report Favourites (introduced in a previous release, but plays nicely

with the Criteria Favourites.)

Flag the reports you run every day as

one of your Report Favourites and

they’ll be listed right at the top to make

them easy to find and fast to run.

Like Report Criteria Favourites, they’re

saved per user so everybody can set

their own list of faves.

agrē Config Options for Spring

There are many ways to configure agrē to better follow your particular business practices - you

just need to know where to look. Many Company level options can be overridden at the

Location or User level if different users follow different processes. Remember that most config

options are just defaults that can be changed on the fly.

Report Options

It can be very annoying when customers are

lined up 3 deep and you’re being prompted

to preview each and every invoice and you

don’t print invoices! Instead of punishing

that NO button every time, you can tell agrē

to stop asking. And if you always use the

same criteria to print Loadout Tickets,

there’s no point confirming them every time

you print one of those either.

Blending Options

If you blend the same way all the time,

set that as the Default Calculation

Method.

If you start your blends from Make a

Blend, and all you do is blend, you may

prefer to Keep Blend Window open

after Save so you can crank out one

after another.

If Agrotain is your most-used Additional

Product, set the default rate to MT per

Product.

Set the Blend History to go back as far

as you need it to, and to show blends on

only the transactions you use.

agrē AgCollect Tip: Prepaid Product on Work Orders

There’s still snow on the ground, it’s too early

for growers to pick up product, and AgCollect

is asking about my Prepaid Sales. Nobody has

AgCollect sales at this time of year! How can I

report on “sales to be”?

That’s an easy one! Product that’s been prepaid

lives on work orders, and you can find those

values easily with the Work Order Detail data

export.

File > Exports > Data

As this is export is not specific to AgCollect,

selecting Any Manufacturer will include

results from all manufacturers - not just the

AgCollect ones - but you don’t need to do

anything differently. AgCollect will filter out

any irrelevant data.

Read more about EMR/AgCollect reporting in

the AgCollect whitepaper.

Tronia Systems Ltd. is pleased to continue our

scholarship program for students in the

Agribusiness sector. Two (2) $1,000

scholarships are awarded annually to students

who demonstrate outstanding leadership

abilities through school and community

involvement while maintaining a superior

academic standing.

It was a very difficult decision this year. We had

four applicants with excellent credentials and

there was an unprecedented amount of

discussion before the finalists were chosen.

Congratulations to Deanna Ringelberg of

Troy, ON, and Myles Butt of Hughenden, AB

who were each awarded a $1,000 Scholarship

from Tronia Systems. They were awarded the

scholarship based on their outstanding

leadership qualities, community involvement

and academic standing.

You can download applications for this year’s

scholarships from our Giving Back webpage.

The deadline to apply is

Friday, October 14, 2016.
