parent involvement produce students who perform better than otherwise
identical programs that do not involve parents as thoroughly, or that do
not involve them at all.”
Welcome back to school! It is our hope that this newsletter equips you
with useful tools to help build capacity, eliminate inequities, and
cultivate positive cultures at your school site.
Just click on the links on the following pages and the resources are
available for your immediate use. Also included are important
deadlines and upcoming meetings and training dates.
Each month we build the capacity of your Parent Family Center
Directors/Community Representatives so that they in turn build the
capacity with your parents. Please remind and encourage them to at-
tend every meeting. The first meeting is on Thursday, September 8,
2016 at the California African American Museum. We expect
100% attendance. A listing of Parent Educator Cohorts and meet-
ing dates are provided on Page 8.
