President Fred Brown called the meet- three members attending. Patsy Watson highlighted that the pre-

vious weeks speaker donated a commemora-tive NFL coin which will be raffled off with tick-ets going for $5. Please see Patsy to pur-chase a ticket. Proceeds go to our Club's Foundation.

Andy Carothers announced speaker Tom George, Partner GBE&W and his topic: “The New Healthcare Laws.” [Tom George, 214-619-5205, Email: tgeorge@imsagencies. com]• The law is currently 2,700 pages with 29,000 pages of guidance and clarifications.• Uniform Coverage Summaries (SBC). Fed-eral government mandates the exact format, language and details of the plan. Enrollment began after 9/23/12.• Medicare Tax Increase. Beginning January 1, 2013 the Medicare tax will increase from 1.45% to 2.35% for those making more than $200K (as an individual) or $250K for a family.• Flexible spending accounts are limited to $2,500 as the maximum withholding, and in-crease annually by cost of living adjustment.• W-2 Reporting. In 2013 all employers with W2 employees have to report all medical ex-penses of each employee. This was a huge burden for companies and fortunately it was changed it those employers with greater than 250 W2 employees. No tax is collected on this; only for informational purposes.• State Exchange Notification. Employers need to communicate with employees about the future availability of a health insurance exchange in their state vs. other options available. The original March 1 date has been delayed to likely October 2013.• Patient centered outcomes (cont. on pg. 3)

Paul Harris Fellow. PP Greg also recognized Lynn Surls as a second level PHF.

Dr. Michael Rainwater provided an up-date on Dentistry With A Heart. Our Rotary is the largest support of this event, and last year Rotary donated $50,000 of services to this event. Volunteers are still needed at HP Pres-byterian Church for greeting and helping pa-tients through the process.
