Films are a magical thing. they can bring whole worlds and characters to life - living, breathing, in flesh and blood. it can make our tummies hurt in laughter, force us to close our eyes in horror and also make us drop tears at death. they shall also keep us on the edge of our seats in anticipation and that is something books cannot do so well as the visual aspect is absent. movies are pure pleasure; everything is

thought out for you. All you have to do is sit back, watch, and enjoy.Films are amazing, but they don’t have the same enclosure of the humble book. Why? For you are simply a spectator, a third party. You do not feel everything the character feels, aren’t reading each and every single one of their innermost thoughts, all of their doubts and fears and hopes. Films let you observe everything. Books? Books let you feel

everything, know everything and live everything. You are the character, you imagine yourself within him/her. You can be the hero who blasts away the monster with a flick of your finger, or the girl who battles love, along with all the pain and uncertainty that comes with it. there are no boundaries, no restrictions, for you are imagining and adapting to the scenario as you want to. even if for a few hundred pages,

nothing else exists, and you are an entirely new character in a new world with new possibilities; free from your own troubles. leaning towards books a little, true. But that’s justified. Films are, in all honesty, a summarised and amplified version of a book. Books are the full experience, and for those who read, the experience will always be better than films.

No one will ever understand the blissful warmth of a butterbeer in Hogsmeade. life on screen may seem horrible at first but then something magical happens and everything is better and everyone lives happily ever after. news flash! it’s all scripted. life isn’t perfect and hence one shouldn’t try to incorporate the elements from the silver screen into their lives because it never ends well for them. learning pick-up lines from your favourite flicks and using them in real-life might not bode too well for you.

the fact that technology plays such an important role in movies these days, also has a lot to do with this norm. the use of cgi makes it look real on screen and that just adds more fuel to the fire. the difference between fantasy and real life is often forgotten especially because we live in a time where the truth may seem harsher than fiction at times.

After “Avatar” came out, there were people who were saddened by the

Why do we watch movies? For entertainment? To experience things that we don’t do every other day and watching it on screen makes us feel good? But what happens when we forget the fine line between fantasy and reality? That is when you get affected. Here’s why you may not want to try the things you see on screen

And then there are the stunts. teenagers feel propelled to try such stunts and bring in the possibilities of being injured severely. there has been many reports of deaths resulting from teenagers trying to imitate stunts from the movie series “Jackass” alone!

movies are best enjoyed thinking that it is just a form of entertainment and not a way of life. Beauty Check

Not JuSt a PoSter GIrLWho has not heard of the Ukrainian beauty Mila Kunis or the all American Scarlett Johansson? Jennifer Anniston may be a tad bit old but don’t we all look up in awe at her beauty every F.R.I.E.N.D.S. rerun? What has made these women so famous? Undoubtedly their beauty and talent but are these the only talented ones the world beholds?

media is a two faced serpent and more often than not, rears its ugly head. the teenage years are character forming years and the few where youngsters are the most easily influenced. it is this vulnerability that at times makes us susceptible to fake claims of beauty. no doubt, the actors or actresses we talk of are genuinely beautiful but it isn’t rocket science to understand that nobody is as flawless as the movies portray.

You may choose a healthier way of living and shed a few pounds by eating right but aiming for that perfect hourglass figure should not be the goal. that perfection is an illusion; it is hardly an achievable objective. the designer has to do a lot of tweaking here and there to get that precise effect and in the world outside the television, who has the time?

great skin is achievable with the right kind of eating and exercising habits and even with properly applied make-up but don’t beat yourself up if you do not have that patrician nose or those high cheekbones. make-up artists are magicians. if you and i could afford them, we could be the next emma Watson.

ever seen poster girls without make-up? they look human. they look like you. or me. or anyone else who dares to be normal in this world of glamour hungry people. So when poster girls don’t look like poster girls in real life, maybe it’s time to look into the mirror and appreciate the little crooked nose, or those plump cheeks or even that one buck tooth you may have and come away smiling. Because imperfection, my dears, is realistically beautiful.

Wardrobe Check

Most of us opt for comfort during the harsh summer. To be honest, fashionable clothing equals to comfortable clothing and if you are not comfortable in an outfit, how can you expect to look good in it? And on a hot and humid day, you may as well give those denims a rest and flaunt your shorts. This week TMAG tells you how to don your shorts the right way

ShortS DoNe rIGht!

bigstocK

The right cutA pair of shorts that is either too short or too long is never likely to look good on you, even if you are a model on the cover of Vogue. But how do we determine the right cut? Well here it is; the hem of it should fall just above your knees when you are standing and when you are sitting, it shouldn’t be shorter than your knee.

The coloursunless you are a crew member of the new circus in town, you should think about the colour of your shorts. especially when you are wearing it, make sure you master the art of contrasting your outfit. Summer means bright colours and those colours can be donned, however you need to level it out with a simple, light coloured top

(V-necks are a favourite and polos are simply classic).

Choose shorts that compliment your legsPeople with thin legs aka “chicken legs” often make the mistake of going for shorts that are baggy, to compensate for missing the “legs day” on their gym calender. Baggy shorts make it worse since it looks like a tent hoisted on two thin poles. opt for shorts that fit your legs while leaving space for maximum comfort.

Shoeslow cut loafers and short socks are the best companion for shorts. Stay away from high socks and high top shoes unless you want to look goofy!

Maleficent

if you want to see Disney’s most malicious character come alive, then keep your eyes glued to maleficent. Directed by robert Stromberg, maleficent has the scintillating Angelina Jolie geared up as a vicious vindictive “fairy.” everyone knows about Princess Aurora and the viciousness of the evil witch. But how many people know of the betrayal of this witch that made her so vengeful and stone cold? maleficent canvasses the story of maleficent’s curse on Aurora which brings catastrophe to both the forest kingdom and the human kingdom. in a story of dilemmas, magic, hatred and a little bit of love, watch Jolie in all her magnificence! As Aurora and maleficent fight the battle of good and evil, do we expect the good to take over the bad? or, is there a delicious twist in the story?

The Fluffy Movie

if you type the word “Fluffy” into google, the search result will come up with either two things: pictures of bunny rabbits and videos of stand-up comedian gabriel iglesias. the uber-popular mexican/American jokester has been working hard and building a loyal audience for over a decade now. But his career really took off when his comedy specials, 2007’s “hot and Fluffy” and 2009’s “i’m not Fat... i’m Fluffy,” ranked among the most watched stand-up videos on Youtube and netflix.

now, the hawaiian-shirted and self-described “Fluffy” comedian is breaking into new territory this summer with his first theatrical concert film, the aptly titled “the Fluffy movie.” Featuring two stand-up performances that were taped couple of months earlier, the film will also showcase documented segments on iglesias’ skyrocketing career. Slated to open in theatres on July 11, you can check out the film’s first trailer from the following link http://youtu.be/SegncgVBe-0

22 Jump Street

And Schmidt and Jenko are back again with a sequel to the famous 21 Jump Street on July 13, 2014. After going through high school (twice), it’s time for college. But their partnership gets questioned when Jenko meets someone on the football team and Schmidt enrolls into the bohemian art major scene. now not only do they have to crack a case, but they also need to grow from overgrown adolescents to real men and have a mature relationship. With the easy comic banter between the two and lots of hilarious comedy, expectations on “22 Jump Street” are staked quite high!

Transformers: Age of Extinction

transformers: Age of extinction, commonly known as transformers 4 is a sequel to transformers: Dark of the moon. this soon-to-be-released movie picks up four years after the invasion of chicago. this film is also said to be the first that will feature Dinobots.

After transformers 3 the fans of the series and the fans of sci-fi are eagerly waiting for the latest movie, which is to be released on June 27 in the uS. A lot of them have even predicted the twists and turns in the movie’s plot. rumors about the director of the movie changing have been proved wrong, and this movie like the previous ones is directed by michael Bay. the cast of actors is completely new, including mark Wahlberg in the lead role as cade Yeager and nicola Peltz as tessa Yeager, daughter of cade.

transformers: Age of extinction will be released in 2D, real 3D and imAX 3D. You can visit the official website, www.transformersmovie.com, to view the trailers and the photo gallery.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

matt reeves isn’t a director of much repute. his past credits include tV shows like Felicity. his movie resume is limited to the queasy-cam monster-flick cloverfield and the totally needless horror remake “let me in.”

reeves has taken a job which comes with a lot of expectations attached. rise of the Planet of the Apes took the beloved charlton heston flick, took us back in time and showed us how it all started. it was cgi-heavy compared to all previous versions of the Planet of the Apes mythology. the material was cheesy and deliciously “B movie” in its presentation and it worked. neophyte director rupert Wyatt was a gamble that paid off.

maybe it is for that reason that the franchise entrusted matt reeves with “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” About to be released July 11 this year, the film has “summer blockbuster” written all over it. it will pull in some major cash, but will it be good? At least there will be gary oldman’s performance to look forward to. the synopsis promises a war between the apes and a small band of human survivors.

With the recent popularity of the Walking Dead, the basic story seems to be playing it safe. the film might be do justice to its predecessor, but there’s no reason to expect it will be more than another hollywood sequel.

How to Train Your Dragon 2

With the much-better-than-expected original, DreamWorks Animations promises magic with their sequel of how to train Your Dragon movies. truth be told, it won’t be easy, for its predecessor was top of the charts (besides Shrek), voted one of the best movies of the year, and just plain wonderful. But, this time, the story reveals some twists which will answer questions you never asked, and make you wonder why you didn’t.

Set five years after the original, how to train Your Dragon 2 continues the story of their flimsy, hilarious hero, hiccup and his dragon toothless set out to explore new territories around their great city of Berk. Dragons have now become a part of life for them, a source of comfort and power. But little do they know how much power, until they stumble upon a mysterious, more potent dragon rider, who tells them of a greater issue at hand. the ultimate battle was about to begin, one where humans and dragons must work together in order to survive.

those who have seen the original film may expect humor, much of it. Well, this one is tilts a tad more to the emotional side compared to the original. it is funny, mind you, and this combination creates a wonderful balance and introduces maturity in the movie. one of the most anticipated films of 2014, how to train Your Dragon 2 is worth the wait till June 13.

Hercules: The Thracian Wars

to be released on 25th June, hercules is not really much anticipated. the difference lies in Brett ratner being the director and the rock (Dwayne Johnson) being the main character, which trumps this movie up a whole new level. greek mythological films have always been an intriguing theme, and hercules is no Percy Jackson.

hercules was the powerful son of a god, but not just any god. his father was Zeus, the king of gods, for which he was brutally punished in life. After twelve arduous labours, and the loss of his family, hercules turned his back on his father’s kind, and found solace in battle and bloodshed. With time, he acquainted with six others with similar thirst for chaos on his journeys. But everything changed when king thrace hired these men and women to train his army into ruthless, merciless mercenaries just like them.

Yes, exactly. Sounds…meh. the point of the story is hazy, and the trailer doesn’t help at all. it just shows hercules chopping down three-headed wolves, water monsters, giant hogs and the fact that he can shout out his own name. it was interesting, but too much sugar when the bitterness seems obvious.

the final problem comes with Dwayne Johnson. Being the main character requires numerous displays of emotion, which his bulging muscles can’t make up for. moreover, he doesn’t pull off that vicious and menacing look like he’s supposed to. it looks funny, actually. We hope hercules: the thracian Wars is better than it seems, and it really doesn’t seem like much.

X-Men: Days of future past

Director Bryan Singer, releases yet another sequel to the X-men series. the release of X-men: Days of Future Past has the marvel fans riled up about it; when the comics are adapted to films, the audiences are looking forward to a proper execution- which means a brilliant cast, outstanding visual effects and of course, keeping the story intact, and this film certainly comprises of all three elements.

the plot unfolds in the future, where robots known as Sentinels are trying to exterminate mutants, and humans that carry mutant genes. A bunch of mutants manage to save themselves from the Sentinels with the help of kitty Pryde, who can project a persons’ consciousness back in time to deliver warnings. Pryde and her group of mutants stumble upon Storm, Wolverine, Professor Xavier and magneto in a monastery in china. With Pryde’s ability, they decide to send Wolverine’s consciousness back to 1973 in order to stop mystique from killing Bolivar trask, the designer of the original Sentinels. killing him will not only declare him a martyr, but will bring upon a different kind of hell for mystique as well as the remaining mutants. there are various layers to this film, and one can never make sense of it, unless they haven’t watched the first film or even the last two parts of X-men (the last Stand and First class).

the film was released this year on may and has received a rating of 8.6 out of 10 by imDB. X-men: Days of Future Past particularly acts as a sequel to X-men: the last Stand and X-men: First class, and given the history of the X-men series (minus the Wolverine movies), one certainly should not fail to catch this. X-men is one series that has earned its right to be far-fetched and we believed, Bryan Singer has done an immaculate job in portraying the marvel heroes.

What inspired you to become a 3D Generalist? the inspiration came from that sheer level of creativity that can be ventured into in this field. the thought that “staying within the periphery” of what the director asks of you is the only requirement. Apart from that, whatever that needs to be created can have a lot to do with how the person or, the “creator” envisions, as to what it will be like, was the driving force. Also, the first transformers film was a revelation!

How long have you been in practice?i have been freelancing since late 2012.

What are the challenges that you have faced while learning to become a 3D Generalist?the biggest challenge is keeping up with a very fast-moving production industry and their standards.

constantly learning and keeping up to date with whatever the latest industry practices are, reading a lot of magazines related to film and animation production, watching interviews and reviews of latest films and animations and how studios undertook the work from a technical perspective and finally…Practice! Practice! Practice! Also, a lot of time needs to be dedicated toward personal research and persistence.

What are the perks of being a 3D Generalist and how is it different from other forms of graphic designing?graphic design and Animation/VFX production are two very different things. having mentioned that, in both areas, having a “creative-eye” is a necessity.

With the “creative-eye” being a constant, the 3D generalist is able to take part in more than one area of production. it could be modelling and texturing, rigging, animating, effects and dynamics, lighting and compositing. there is always something to do and

soak all the inspiration that comes along the way. Besides, it is a non-conventional study. knowing more would always make a 3D generalist a versatile person. it allows a lot of creative freedom at different levels of production. A 3D generalist is a person who is comfortable working at more than one functional aspect of animation or VFX production.

Have you faced criticisms about your line of work?Always. As a matter of fact, the rule of thumb is, getting it seen by others so that, a fresh pair of eyes can detect things, the “creator’s” tired pair couldn’t.

i believe, if it doesn’t look good to somebody, chances are the work isn’t finished yet.

Which was the most complex VFX that you had designed?i have had the honor of being the technical Director of a short animated film when i was abroad. Besides being in charge of modeling and texturing the character and the environment, lighting the environment and rendering and compositing the final piece, creating effects for a spaceship exhaust, the destruction crating by a collapsing underground chamber and stone columns piercing out of the ground were difficult but fun.

Do you think graphic art and design should be a part of school curriculum in bangladesh?it should be. We have produced innumerous accountants and bankers already don’t you think?

What do you enjoy doing in your leisure time? Playing the guitar and singing along, trying new things that have been done in the latest films, cooking (it can be therapeutic) and conducting personal research into things n

After completing his studies from both SAE Institute and Ravensbourne College of Art and Design, Shakil Shamshad, a 3D Generalist, strives to make a difference, when it comes to designing VFX (Visual Effects) and creative animations. RuBaB nayeeM Khan digs deep to find the driving force behind his creativity

Name three basic likes and dislikes Likes• modelling and texturing• lighting• concept art

Dislikes• rigging• Animating• managing people from different departments to

keep up the pace.

Message for the readers Because animation or VFX production is a very western study, a very different approach is required should anyone wish to venture their creative prowess.the “train of thought” to be taken in this field needs to be driven by the visions that are almost “alien” or, bordering absurd, but with the magic of the technics of VFX they can be shown to exist in the real world.

Please stay persistent and dedicate plenty of time towards research and development, understand what would look good on-screen or on paper, understand colour theories and jot down stories, ideas and concepts when they are envisaged.

Wrath oF the rePtILegodzilla, the world’s most famous monster, is finally back to his old school form and the film is without a doubt, one of the most anticipated movies of this year. godzilla (2014) starts of well enough and throughout the entire film; there wasn’t a moment this writer was bored. however, that being said, it wasn’t a great film either. going to the theatre to watch a movie called “godzilla,” needless to say, you won’t be expecting anything smart, intellectual or with a solid story line. the selling point of these movies, similar to Pacific rim, are the action, the high budget production, destruction to the city and, in this case, giant monsters fighting each other. even with all its flaws, Pacific rim managed to deliver everything it promised- plenty of giant monsters fighting giant robots, which led to a fulfilling lasting experience even after the credits started rolling. in the case of the godzilla, the visuals and sound effects are excellent followed by decent acting from the whole cast. the film does a great job at luring you into its world. however, godzilla is a secondary character to his own movie. every character, including the main antagonists of the film, is developed more than godzilla. it takes half the movie for godzilla to even show up to his own film and every time the movie was about to deliver what the title promised- a lot of giant monster vs giant monster scenes, the camera conveniently focused on something a lot less interesting. the action scenes the entire movie was building towards were painfully short and horribly anticlimactic. What this writer initially had mistaken for a tease, proved to be just really confused storytelling at the end. All in all, godzilla is not a boring film, but it failed to deliver what it promised. the writer is not completely sure what the director, gareth edwards, was aiming for when he made the film, but one thing is for certain, it’s not the same as what we were expecting as an audience. the movie is worth a watch, but not worth the time, money and effort watching it in the theatres. if you’re curious to know what happens, catch it on DVD or when it’s available for download.

clueless elf and his pet panther embark on a quest to restore peace to a troubled empire. Along the way, he meets a bloodthirsty undead warlock, a half-breed troll priestess with a minotaur stepfather, and a dwarf maiden who joins forces with him. theirs is a path riddled with endless battles, bloodshed and misadventures.

the pros: if you’re a pop-culture geek, you are going to love the cheesy references. cale the elf may be the “hero” of the story, but the real protagonist is richard, the warlock. in that respect, it’s not unlike how Barney Stinson hijacked himYm, which was

What Anna Wintour is to fashion, roger ebert was to film. it won’t be an exaggeration to say that for serious film buffs, his reviews in the chicago Sun-times were the deciding factor in whether a movie was worth watching.

the legendary film critic,

journalist and screenwriter may have passed away in April last year, but he has left behind a lasting legacy. As cinemas prepare to release his biopic “life itself” later this year, this seems about the right time to have a look at the book that inspired it.

those familiar with the earlier ebert, will remember him as a seriously intelligent, sharp-witted and incisive personality, with a lot to say. Which is why his long-drawn battle with oral cancer, which eventually robbed him of speech, was such a painful story to follow.

the book begins with the energy and enthusiasm characteristic of the young ebert, the one who blazed through his undergrad years juggling many professional journalistic roles. it is peppered with celebrities. ebert

my father always used to say: “What do you know about life? You’re just a kid, wait till you’re a parent, then you’ll understand.” i was and still am to have had a loving and caring father as my Dad. he worked as hard as he could to provide for us

and to make sure we were always comfortable.

the day i moved out of our house, he said to me: “You’re on your way out to the real life, be careful and be safe.” he’d always encouraged me to do whatever it is i wanted to do and was passionate about. he didn’t yell, or scream or shout or even say he was disappointed in me when i chose to study medicine and change my course after having studied finance for two years.

When i became a doctor, his was the brightest and proudest face in the room. i’d wanted to become a doctor because my father was one and he inspired me to become someone who stared death in the face everyday. When my first patient died, i was devastated and wanted to quit medicine. then my father sat me down and explained to me how it was not my

fault and that death was inevitable. my father was a man who could

ease all sorts of ailments and pain. i’d always wondered what i’d do without him by my side. When i performed my first surgery with him, he guided me towards the whole procedure and let me take control. it was the first time i’d felt invincible and i saw his humility rise as he said to me: “Don’t be so cocky and daft, you’re only fixing things temporarily.”

today i’m one of the most successful surgeons in the country and i only have my father to thank for that. he’s retired now, but still when i’m worried with a case he helps me out. my father is my teacher, my friend and the person who’s been there for everything in my life. i cannot imagine my life without him and he is all that i am and all that i’ll ever be. i love you Dad! had been, after all, rubbing shoulders with the famous throughout his career. Author of over 20 books, and the first film reviewer to get his star on the Walk of Fame, he talks about his television roles, about helping kick-start oprah’s career (betcha didn’t know that before) and his rivalries.

towards the end, it mellows out as he talks about the cancer days. even though the book had been published while he was still alive, one can get the sense that he knew his time was running out. it is philosophical and introspective without becoming overly depressing.

this book is a treat for any serious film aficionado, but even if you’re not, the cool trivia and the unabashed honesty of the author will charm you.

supposed to be ted mosby’s story.the cons: Sometimes the writers

get too carried away with the jokes and it takes forever for an episode to get to the point. Also, since the creators draw from a wide range of movies, television, songs, current affairs, there’s always the risk that one might miss out on half the references.

the verdict: 2.5/5 makes for a decent pastime for the first 2-3 volumes, but eventually, the series, like a lot of network shows, begins to drag. nonetheless, if only for the first 2-3 volumes, it’s worth a look-see.

A magnanimous explosion of exuberance and electrifying chants coupled with the iconic samba beats of Brazil defines the essence of this album. the title captures the spirit of the beautiful game, the oneness that binds us all, the football aficionados. “We are one (ole ola),” performed by Pitbull, Jennifer lopez and cluadia leitte is the official 2014 Fifa World cup Song. Definitely the song that you would get to hear the most, perhaps put your flags up in the air and wave along to the most this June to July. the creeping in of carlos Santana’s signature guitar notes, linguistically contrasting vocals of Wyclef Jean and Alexandre Pires and Avicii’s vivacious hint of rave make up the official 2014 FiFA World cup Anthem, “Dar um Jeito (We Will Find A Way).” have you come to learn about Fuleco? the three-Banded Armadillo that can turn into a ball? Yes, Fuleco the tatu-bola is the official mascot of the 2014 FiFA World cup. they did too make a song for him, “tatu Bom De Bola” performed by Arlindo cruz, a revered Brazilian musician specialising on samba and pagoda. he adds another dimension with the charms of bossanova. the soulful voice of Aloe Blacc opens coca-cola’s official Anthem, “the World is ours” along with the mexican Pop Star Paty cantu and David correy. this is arguably the most beautiful song of the album. this collection of 15 blood boiling, enchantingly colourful melodies also includes “la la la” by Shakira and carlinhos Brown. Also, a must mention appearance by the king of World cup Anthems ricky martin featuring Judia on “Viva.” get a hold of “one love, one rhythm” and begin the 2014 FiFA World cup ritual with some Brazil for your ears. zaki adNaN

As soon as Bauer resurfaces, he’s apprehended by the ciA and forcefully recruited to take part in the investigation with a promise of freedom in return for his cooperation. Soon, he realises the terrorist threat that lies ahead, far exceeds the threat of the presidential assassination. this makes him hop on board to assist a group of inexperienced counter terrorist unit aka ctu agents in hopes to thwart their ploy. What is this ploy? Why does it hold priority over a presidential assassination?

to answer all of the above, you will have to watch the series. the scenes and stories, as usual, are played out from the perspective of different characters covering all vantage points. With an imDb rating of 9.3/10, this definitely is worth the watch.

Wave It oFFapp of the week

how awesome would it be if you could unlock your phone by just waving your hand over the screen? the people at Samsung have figured it out quite some time ago with their galaxy S4 . the developers at nDtSoft are a step closer to making life with your smartphone easier and a little more interesting.

meet the magic app that lets you unlock your phone without any physical contact, become the envy of your friends and family with “Wave to unlock.” the name may be a bit unimaginative, but it sends the message across. this app uses the proximity sensor to recognise gesture or movements you make in front of the screen and interprets it as a command to unlock your device. You need not

worry about security issues since this app will take you to the lock screen (if you have one), so there is no threat to your phone’s security. this app serves another purpose that is on the opposite spectrum of what its name suggests, it is also capable of locking your device. Just cover the proximity sensor with your hand for a few seconds and your device will lock itself ready to be unlocked again at the simple wave of a hand.

it is a very practical app and can help you utilise your phone more efficiently. Best of all having this app on your device will definitely ease some pressure off of your power button which, let’s face it, goes through moderate to extreme abuse every day.

Secrets of raetikon, developed by Broken rules in Vienna is a work of pencil-color art drawn upon landscapes of pristine beauty. released in April 2014, Secrets of raetikon is a single-player, action-adventure platform, in which the protagonist-which is a bird-must travel through mountains, hilltops and such to find locks to the seven caged doors, revealing a secret.

Along the way, the protagonist must encounter Shaman-like gods symbolic of native American origins, fly through temples reminiscent of the hindu goddess Durga and finally, the mythical fox, capable of cunning and trickery. in the game itself, it is a benevolent

father-god, in eternal slumber.the strength of the game lies in its

visuals. Secrets of raetikon exhibits a warm-but pencil sharp-2D edge to the environment in which the protagonist must flit around to achieve its goals. the game is not limited to one inner-bound arena-the protagonist must travel through various landscapes to achieve its goals. Sound effects and ease of game play notwithstanding, some players might find some aspects of the game tedious and repetitive.

But if one is a fan of 2D animation and art in gaming, they will not want to miss this.

if you are into gaming and don’t like it on a console, chances are you have come across the SteelSeries hardware for your desktop. they make a variety of devices but basically all your gaming hardware can be fully supplied by this company; their motto “keep it simple.” Despite the simplicity, their devices ooze sophistication.

recently the company released their latest device, a device that any gamer would be proud to have in their arsenal. the SteelSeries kinzu V2(rubberised) mouse—for those of you who forgot their geek pill this morning—comes armed with its predecessor’s ergonomic, and ambidextrous design. Accentuating only three programmable buttons (which can easily be reprogrammed through their flagship software), the makers were adamant at ensuring that you don’t

get overwhelmed during your intense gaming sessions. Boasting a 3,200 DPi and a lofty 3600 frames per second registrations rate, the precision of this thing is beyond imagination. this light weight and compact device is built with durability in mind so the double braided nylon cord is quite a welcomed feature. Slide past your competitors with the new SteelSeries kinzu V2, featuring a high performance teflon bottom, moving the mouse is akin to breathing!

the mouse is available at all computer Source outlets and it comes with a 12 month warranty. A price tag of tk4,000 may seem a bit much for a device with such minimalistic features, in all honesty it probably is, however, you cannot put a price on sophistication, and simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.

The chomperto these people, the movie theatre is the only place on earth where food is available. Any inch not covered with food, either in their hands or a two feet radius around their seat, is considered a waste. But that’s not the biggest problem. the annoyance begins when they start munching, and that painful, consistent, sound of every bite reaches your ears throughout the movie.

The loudspeakerAll important meetings initiate at the movies for these folks. they will keep their phones glued to their ears, talking, if you’re lucky, just loud enough to make every word audible. Soon, you will have to really start concentrating to hear the lines of the movie, and hope to god that subtitles magically appear.

The bickering lovebirdsthese couples have seen, somewhere, that movies are a romantic place to cuddle and smooch, and have come to tick that off their list. Apart from passionate scenes, they do not take heed to what’s going on, on the big screen. throwing caution to the wind, they begin their public display of affection. Very disturbing and uncomfortable, you’re unlucky if one of these couples lie in your fate.

The leakessentially meerkats, these people shall suddenly rise to the occasion of ruining a perfect moment in the movie. not once, but multiple times, and simply dash out of the hall. the only things one can assume that contain such short bursts of emergencies are nature calls.

The pig“Aaachu!” excuse me (rubs hand on the seat). Sluurp! Whoops! (drink splashes on the ground). Yes, you know who these people are. they need no introduction, for you could probably smell them from a mile away. they come in many forms, and none of them are bearable to sit beside in any movie.

The translatorto the translator, he/she is the only person who understands the language spoken in the movie, and has gracefully taken the responsibility to explain to the other confused audience the meaning of every line. Funny at times, annoying at others, these people will eventually tick you off.

The spoilersthe worst of their kind, these people must have a special place in hell reserved for them. they have seen the movie before, and will miss no opportunity to prove it. every anticipated part is spoilt by them, especially in horror movies, where they will directly blurt out “bhoot!” just before frightening parts. they ruin the mood completely, and consequently, the movie.
