ATHLETICS

Tiger Pride

First of all, TIGER PRIDE!

Marana Athletic News

The Culture, Commitment and Competitiveness philosophy

is strong and vibrant on our courts, fields, and mats.

We had a great week in Marana Athletics. Our lady Tigers basketball team beat Ironwood

Ridge which is a huge win for their venture to the State playoffs. The lady Tiger soccer

players had two big wins against Mountain View and Casa Grande. Our young ladies are

definitely showing their tenacity to gain those W’s for their programs.

The men’s soccer team has made big gains this year and brought home another W against

Casa Grande. These boys have been committed as a team to be more competitive which

can be seen on the field. Travis Howard was the 220 weight Champion at the Flowing

Wells Wrestling Tournament, which is one of the biggest and toughest tournaments in

Arizona. We have a strong wrestling team that continues to grow, train and prepare for

the Sectionals Tournament in a few weeks.

REMINDER: Spring try outs begin February 9th. If your student is planning to try out for

baseball, softball, track, men’s volleyball, or tennis he/she must have all their completed

paperwork turned into the Athletics department by February 6th. Students cannot try out

per AIA without completed paperwork in the school athletic department. If you have any

questions, call 616-6475.

I look forward to another great week in Tiger Pride Athletics. We would love to see you at

our games to support our Tigers!

Honored to be the AD, Monika Montiel Turner TIGER PRIDE Athlete of the Week – PERSISTENT

These Tigers have proven to have to be PERSISTENT through their actions, commitment and character on

and off the field, court and mat.
