Following last weeks Muslim festival the Ewe trade has stayed up better than people had anticipated. Top on
the day £100.50 for a Charollais from Mr S Stewart of Liskeard. Texel Ewes topped at £93 from Tom Highmoor
of St Wenn. Hill bred Ewes to £66.
328 FAT LAMBS
Smaller entry still met a very strong trade and a lot more were needed to fill buyer’s orders. Overall average of
210.1p. Several pens of young sappy lambs over 215p, to a top of 220p for a smart pen of Charollais x, 45kgs,
£99, from Steve Goodman, Greystone, with two vendors realising 216p, George Williams of St Kew 44.4kgs, £96
and four pens of 40kgs from Mr T C Steed of Hendawle, Davidstow.
1181 STORE LAMBS
A cracking run of 1040 Store Lambs from Mr TC Steed of Davidstow, his annual consignment met with much
interest, and a very stong trade was met. The Suffolk x Mule April born Lambs sold to a top of £80 for six pens.
A smart run of Texel x Mule Lambs from the same vendor saw the first three pens at £82, and the next three
pens at £80. Store Lambs from other vendors also met a flying trade with Rundle Weldhen topping the day at
£85 for three pens and £82 for two more.

257 STORE CATTLE
Over 300 Cattle again at Hallworthy, a muggy day but a bright and brisk trade, with a top of
£1275. A welcome return for Mr H L Banbury of St Meryn, with a well muscled and long British
Blue x Steer reaching top price. Mr Desborough of Wadebridge, saw his run of 31 Cattle top out
at £1205 for a pair of Charolais x Steers with superb carcase and fleshing, his next a pen of five
Charolais x Steers to £1200, and two more bunches at £1150 and £1100. P J Ead of St Austell
with another run of superbly fleshed Cattle to a top of £1175 for a pair of Limousin x. H L
Banbury back in again with a pair of British Blue x to £1080 and £1060. Quality Herefords from
Mr Warren of Roche saw his best, a tremendous Steer out of Charolais Cows to a top of £1125.
P J Ead of St Austell topped the Heifer section with a well turned out Hereford x Heifer to
£1130. H L Banbury saw his best to £1080 for a pen of four British Blue x Heifers, and John
Philips of Bridestow seeing his Limousin x Heifers to £1025. Mr Desborough was next with a
wonderful pen of five, 15 month Charolais x Heifers to £1000.
COWS
Cows today saw a top of £955 for a Sussex x Cow from John Philips and Fresian Cows from the
Osbornre Family at £920.
46 STIRKS
A good run of 40 Stirks today saw top spot going to Mr R Kempthorne of St Tudy, with a single
British Blue x Steer to £665, and a second bunch at £635, with Heifers to £570. ME & LM Budge
of North Hill the best of their Aberdeen Angus Calves to £600, and Heifers to £540.
