ask the artist :DAN HARDING
Did you prefer Monster of the Week orMytharc episodes?
Definitely Monster of the Week.
Who was your favorite character to draw?
The Flukeman. All the detail in that make-up job is soimpressive, and it made drawing him a blast.
What mediums did you use for your cards?
Marker and colored pencil.
Tell us a little about your process.I definitely wanted to use photo reference to keepeverything as close to the show as possible. I tried to
find the coolest images or most dramatic and sketchthose onto the cards. Id then get everything lined andblocked in with marker, and after that I get the colorin there. Usually quite a few layers of colored pencil toget the look just right, or at least as close as possible.Thats about it.

Did you prefer Monster of the Week orMytharc episodes?
Aliens.
Do you have a favorite episode of the showin general?
I have many I love, but hard to remember a specificone. I enjoyed watching Anasazi and Space.
Are you a Skeptic or Believer?
Maybe a Believer.
Who was your favorite character to draw? The agents.
Tell us a little about your process. After carefully penciling details of the image, I paintwith 00 size brushes to get the likeness with acrylicpaint. I use acrylic like watercolor: thin and transparent.I build up the thickness of the paint as I finish the cards.
