Due to their excellent resistance against water and long term weathering resistance, a good load carrying capacity

and a much higher water vapour permeability to most of the other systems you can not only waterproof the typical

also use it as protective surface coating-system for structural concrete or as a protective layer for building constructions.

Concrete protection – the new scope of use for the cementitious slurries from Ceresit

Concrete buildings and structural concrete components are not only exposed to continuous water attacks (rain,

snow etc.) but also to high temperatures changes, vibration, movements and sometimes aggressive chemi-cals.

CR65 and CR100 can be used to improve concrete surface protection of different structures and elements like

humid areas, basements, garages and also water tank reservoirs. CR166 can be used to improve concrete

surface protection of different structures and elements like internal humid areas, garages, pillars and bridges.

CoatingUsed as a coating Ceresit slurries produce a continuous protective layer on the surface of the concrete.

Mechanically remove sintered layers, cement paste, release agent residues or similar deposits.

Repair any defects, cavaties and cracks by filling them with mortar. In the case of uneven brickwork with numerous projections, defects etc., prepare a levelling render with cement mortar.

Substrate preparation

Remove all loose particles with a steel brush and redust the surface.

Preparation of edges

Cove all corners with a hollow moulding of at least 4 cm radius.

Make sure to thoroughly prewet the prepared substrate Mix slurries with clean water (CR65) or Comp. B (CR166) using a low speed stirring device until the mixture is complete free of lumps.

The first layer should be applied by a brush. Apply the second layer only when the first layer is already hardened, but still damp with a trowel or with a brush.

Spray applicaton

In case of spray application the slurry should be applied in a single layer until desired thickness is obtained.
