SHEPLEY SITEOur latest development at Abbey Road in Shepley will produce 82 properties over two phases. Phase one will consist of 31 natural stone homes with a mixture of 1 - 5 bedroom properties. Shepley is a village in the civil parish of Kirkburton, in Kirklees, West Yorkshire. It lies 8 miles south east of Huddersfield and 6 miles north west of Penistone. Shepley is reached by the A629 from Huddersfield and by the A635 from Holmfirth and Denby Dale. The schools in Shepley are fantastic with Shelley College rating as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and is only 1.3 miles from site. There is also Shepley First school which is close by only 0.5 miles away.
The village has a compact centre with most of the village essentials just off the main road around the end of Marsh Lane. It offers a Co-operative shop and newsagent. Shepley has a post office, a library and information centre.
Shepley has a conveniently positioned train station on the Penistone Line only 0.5 mile from site. Shepley is mostly a residential area, having being expanded with new housing development in
recent decades. The area is mostly surrounded by agricultural land.
Pubs are scattered around the Shepley area, including The Black Bull in the village centre and The Sovereign at the junction of the A629 Lane Head Road with the A635 Holmfirth Road/Barnsley Road.
