People seldom begin a vacation

trip without carefully plotting out when and where they will be going. Vacations are an adventure. We plan them to get as much out of them as possible.

Unfortunately, most peo-ple don’t consider life to be an adventure that needs to be planned. As Christian people, it is appropriate that we plan, and anticipate that God will be a blessing to us in the new year.

No two people look on life in the same way. Macbeth said that “Life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” Seneca, the great Roman thinker said, “Life is neither good nor evil; it is simply the place where good and evil exist.” Socrates was a little more hopeful. He hoped that even though life itself was meaningless, he said that “in the end of life, our souls will be like God.”

Fortunately, Christians have a more hopeful view. St. Paul said, “I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the

Son of God.” As Christian people, we live a life of faith, supported by the very presence of Christ, who lives

within us. Such a life is truly an adventure.

In the coming months, we

will face great opportunities,

unexpected tragedies, incredible victories,

challenges which we

could never have expected, and changes

which we could never plan for. But all of these things, if we are living in faith, will be blessings for us. We remember Paul’s words, “All things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.”

I look forward to seeing you every Sunday. As we worship together, we will truly be living life to its fullest. Life in Christ truly is an adventure!

The Lord directed me to Roser when I came to Florida alone and you accepted me as part of your family. In March, David and I were married and I moved to Floral City. Now, I have been offered the position of Outreach Admin-istrative Assistant at Jericho RoadMinistries (www.jericho-road.net) just 15 minutes from my home.

As Dr. Bob says in his article, these are changes I would never have planned—I love working at Roser. Thanks for all your kindness, prayers and generosity. You willalways be my family, so please stay in touch and come visit!
