NOTE FROM THE LAC DIRECTOR

Greetings!

We are so thankful for our students and their great attitudes this se-

mester. This truly has been an unprecedented year, but we have seen

tremendous growth in our students and experienced a sweet spirit of

thankfulness. Our LAC teachers could not be more proud of our stu-

dents and all they have accomplished this year. During this unique se-

mester, the LAC has offered three performance classes, two new dance

classes, and three new voice classes. All of our private lesson teachers

are filled to capacity and we truly only attribute that to one thing…

God! God continues to allow the LAC to impact young lives for Jesus

Christ. He continues to allow us to grow skilled musicians, thespians,

and artists to use their gifts to change the world for Jesus. So, with

this, we celebrate because God is at work, and we continue to look to

Him and rely on Him for everything! We hope you enjoy our Winter

Recitals and Performances. We look forward to seeing you in our

Spring Semester “Celebrate Good Times!”

Blessings Galore!

Christy Elafros has had a love for music from her earliest memories.

Her music journey began on an educational family trip to Williamsburg, VA,

when at the age of 6 she watched the Fife and Drum Corp march down the

colonial streets. She begged her parents to buy her a fife souvenir, and on the

13 hour drive home, she started playing hymns and other songs by ear in their

entirety. Her parents were amazed, and it was at this point, her gift of music

was recognized, encouraged, and fanned into flame! Elementary through high

school, Christy had the privilege of taking private lessons and theory lessons

from a retired collegiate music professor. She received her Bachelors of Mu-

sic with Flute emphasis from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. She

has had the immense blessing of traveling across the US, as well as to Nor-

way, Sweden, and Denmark leading music ministry concerts that shared the

hope of the gospel through music. In 2008, she was asked to plan and lead the

musical worship for an Israel tour through the Moody Bible Institute/Morning

Star tours. She has led K-8 classroom music at two different classical Chris-

tian schools in Chicago, IL, and started instrumental band programs at each.

She also taught private lessons in Chicago’s Chinatown.

Emily Emmett is thrilled to be joining the LAC family! She recently

made the move back to her hometown of Flower Mound after living in New

York City for two years. Growing up, Emily started theatre at a young age

and for 8 years, you could hear her on the radio as a Radio Disney kid. She

was the inaugural Best Actress winner for the Dallas Summer Musical High

School Musical Awards, and performed in New York at the Minskoff Thea-

tre. Emily holds a Bachelor of Music in Musical theatre from Oklahoma City

University. When she's not teaching, Emily is performing all over the

metroplex.Favorite roles include: Eponine (Les Mis), Polly (Crazy for You),

Judy Haynes (White Christmas), Meredith (Batboy!), Margo Crawford

(Bright Star), Ruth (Pirates of Penzance), and Luisa (Nine). Emily is passion-

ate about children and passing on the love of theatre to new generations. She

currently serves as the Middle School Theatre Director at Liberty Christian

School and teaches in high school and lower school as well.
