Another of Bapco’s CSR initiatives is the “Graduate Scholarship Programme” through which Bapco announces to the general public, its intention to grant scholarships in planned disciplines on a yearly basis. The programme plays a key role in Bapco’s succession planning programme through the provision of talented graduates to the workforce. As the company requires a sustained supply of skilled, motivated and productive human resources to support its strategic business direction, the regular provision of scholarships plays an integral part by ensuring that appropriate talent is available at the right time to support the company’s operational requirements. Creative Problem Solving Workshops for Operational Teams Completed

Intermediate Business Writing Takes Full Advantage of L&D Centre’s Latest Communications Technology

Bapco’s HR Department, Learning section, this month completed the Creative Problem Solving training programme they designed specifically for Operational teams. Learning team facilitators Neil Porter and Hazel Ramirez provided the experiential learning experience for 127 Refinery Operators over nine courses between May and the end of October 2015. Experiential learning is widely recognised as a very powerful learning technique, particularly as it reinforces “soft skill” learning to be applied on the job.The one day programme consisted of using the MTa Team kit and setting each group two problems to solve. In the first they had to work in teams of five, competing against each other to create a “box” to carry all the parts. The quality of the box was tested when they had to pass it from one person to the other until all members of the team had carried the box. Whilst the fastest team won some teams received a one minute penalty when pieces fell form the box!Delegates were then encouraged to complete an individual learning review sheet to identify how they worked as a team to solve the problem and what they could do better next time.Superintendent Learning, Peter Conway, commented “The review process is crucial as the operators identified key learning they can quickly transfer to the workplace like spending time brainstorming, listening to each other, involving everyone and creating an action plan before starting the task” In the second problem they had to compete against each other to create the highest stable stack with the MTa kit which was measured after 10 minutes. They were given 10 minutes to plan the task and 10 minutes to complete it, and again they reviewed what went well, what they could improve and how to apply the skills back at work. Crucially

from the two exercises they were able to create a six step problem solving model they could use back at the workplace. In the afternoon delegates examined the different types of challenges and problems faced at work, the need for both quantifiable and qualitative data and how to present their solutions- to achieve maximum benefit. The teams then focused on a real time problem by analysing all the things that had the potential to go wrong with a shutdown at the refinery and the steps they could take to prevent each problem. The delegate feedback was very positive with delegates commenting:Useful in the job- should give more of this kind of training …. Suhaskumar Bhatt, Sayed Moosa Ensure a mixture of cross development participants and provide exercises that are relevant to both office and operational environment, It has energetic environment that break the ice prior to starting the course ….. Ali AlsabbaghAdditional time is needed so that more exercises can be given….

“The most interesting aspect of this year’s writing skills courses was conducting them in the one of the Learning and Development Centre’s new suite of IT rooms, kitted out with some of the latest communications technology, including touch-screen desktops and interactive smart boards,” says John Jaworski, Specialist – Communication Skills, T&DD, who developed and facilitated Intermediate Business Writing. “I can’t say I know how to utilize all the functionality of this technology yet, but I was very impressed with how smoothly it all ran, and how it enhanced the presentation of the course material. The potential is there for some really effective learning”24 delegates from a cross-section of the company - including Maintenance; HR; Engineering; Health, Safety & Environment; OS&E; South Process; RED; Planning & Economics; LSDP; Awali Services; F&L; and Lubricants Business Unit - attended the two, 40-hour writing skills courses run during August. Working in pairs at six workstations, teams proceeded to type each and every exercise in the course book used, producing a variety of memos, e-mails and reports to make inquiries; respond to orders; recommend services; make complaints, etc. Many of the activities were interactive with delegates both initiating and responding to business messages generated by other teams. “It was important that the writing skills the delegates worked on were relevant and directly transferrable back to the workplace” added John, “where everyone could implement and reinforce the skills they had gained on the course. The real challenge of this particular course though, is always to ensure energy levels remain high throughout the two weeks of the course.” To achieve this, a variety of energizers and involver exercises were used, to provide refreshing mental breaks from all the writing tasks set, at appropriate points in the course. The effectiveness of the course was confirmed by comments The Islander obtained from some of the course participants. Lana Ramadan, Snr Sec - GM Maintenance said “I learned about the beauty of punctuation in a paragraph, and how clear and easy reading becomes when punctuation marks are used properly. Moreover, I am now more aware of my writing skills, especially grammar and the use of the correct verbs, adverbs, and nouns. I also know how to make a letter look formal or informal by adding small changes to a paragraph.” Sughra Shafeiee, Head Clerk, Plant Engineering agreed. “The course met my needs and goals in my work. The material was very good. Now, I have learnt new vocabulary and it’s easier

for me to write documents, such as memos and letters. Every manager and superintendent should let their employees attend such course so they will improve their writing skills.” Muneef Alshameeri, Trainee Energy Team Member, P&U also noted the direct transfer of the course learning to his job, “As I’ve recently transferred to a new department after fourteen years working in OPD, my new position requires a lot of technical skills to communicate with other sections in the company. So, in my daily activities I write many e mails and minutes of meetings, and having the course book with me after the course will be a good reference to go back to it when needed. The two week course covered most of my needs in email communication. I’m now more confident about my e mails’ structure. I also know different e mail formats and different techniques. Finally, the course environment was really friendly and enjoyable, with the background music and the ice breakers as two of the unexpected things in this course.”Mohamed Yousif, Electrical Planner South Process & Dist B, Plant Maintenance added “ I will share the knowledge I gained from this course with my friends. As an Electrical Planner I need to write and reply to e mails on a daily basis. Now, I feel more comfortable to do that based on what I have learned from the course, and I will encourage my friends to register to attend the course also. The course will help them to develop their abilities in writing any e mails. It will give them a clear picture in how to start the e mail, according to the subject and enhance their performance to deliver the correct information.” Eman Hani, Secretary – Financial Accounting was very appreciative. “Intermediate Business Writing was a beneficial course for me. The material supplied was very useful and informative. In addition to this, the course was well conducted and dealt with throughout in a professional manner. It helped me to promote confidence, fluency and accuracy in my writing; and provided me with some models which are directly relevant to my work. Moreover, team working is very efficient to share experience. Because of it I learnt more vocabulary and writing techniques. In fact, the last exercise, which was brought at the end of the course, was so great ….. I liked it.” Back to John “One of my objectives for the course was to provide systematic typing practice to develop writing speed, but within a relevant work context, too. It wouldn’t be a writing skills course without a substantial amount of writing and that’s certainly what they got – some of the working files totalled more than 11,000 words by the end of the course. Delegates even had to proofread each other’s work each evening, an essential skill for a writer, but perhaps one that isn’t always practised and applied.”The final word comes from Ali Ghareeb, Snr. Technician - Analytical Instruments, Instrument Section - Plant Maintenance. “I recommend the Intermediate Business Writing course to every employee who uses writing in his business; it is a very beneficial tool to improve the ways of conveying information by writing in a short, clear and precise way.”Learning needs for Intermediate Business Writing should be entered in Masaar under course code AC211 to enable the demand for future courses to be assessed.

BWBT Attends Basketball Association Meeting

A meeting was recently held with the Bahrain Basketball Association regarding the 2015 – 2016 Ladies Basketball League. The tournament will commence on 30 October 2015. Team Managers from Bapco, Alba, GOYS 1, GOYS 2, Al Najma Club, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) & Bahrain School attended the meeting. Bapco was represented by Mrs. Nadia Muradi, Team Manager and Ms. Haneen Abdulaziz, Team Captain. The meeting was

held on 30 September 2015 at the headquarters of the Bahrain Basketball Association in Um Al Hassam. The Bapco Women’s Basketball Team (BWBT) has increased the number of their weekly practices in order to prepare adequately for the tournament. The team will also play a number of friendly games with other clubs as part of their practice routine. The BWBT expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Bapco Management for its continued support and encouragement.

A total of 493 Bapco staff from Upstream and Downstream have recently completed gas testing training, which is validated to the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO) 9024 Authorised Gas Tester 1 (AGT 1) gas testing for confined space entry standard.

OPITO is a non-profit organisation that was formed in 1991 following the UK government’s initiative to address the skills gaps between traditional industry and the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, as well as to up-skill existing workers. Various industry training boards existed prior to its formation, from 1977 onwards.OPITO’s standards are developed by oil and gas workgroups, which are made up of industry representatives, training providers and trade associations. These workgroups drive the content of a standard, the purpose, aims and objectives, assessment criteria, training programme and instructor requirements. This ensures that OPITO standards are current, robust and relevant to the needs of the oil and gas industry. The aim of the AGT 1 training was to improve the gas testing skills and theoretical knowledge of the participants, ensuring that those individuals who are responsible for taking gas tests are certified as being competent to do so. The 2 day course proved very popular and was well attended.

Gas testing is performed using calibrated instruments to check for the presence and absence of gases that can cause fires and explosions, as well as death through asphyxiation due to lack of Oxygen, or the presence of Hydrogen Sulphide. The role of an Authorised Gas Tester (AGT 1) is therefore an important one as operating areas, tanks and vessels etc. are routinely tested for these contaminants before allowing work such as welding, or entry into a confined space and provide a barrier to ensure that life and property are safeguarded.JMS Consultants were selected through the competitive tender bidding process to deliver the training over the period February 2014 to September 2015, inclusive; the training is valid for 3 years, following which 1 day refresher training needs to be undertaken. Bapco employees who have successfully completed the AGT 1 course have been issued with a training certificate and helmet stickers to ensure that they can be readily identified out on site.

Bapco last month hosted a delegation of visitors from the Chinese Embassy, headed by the Ambassador of China to Bahrain Mr. Qi Zhenghong. The Ambassador was joined by a group of visitors, also embassy staff, who were welcomed and taken on a tour of the Dar Al Naft (Oil Museum) by Bapco’s Acting Superintendent - Events Management Mr. Fahad Shamsan, from Public Relations Department. The visit was held with the aim of enabling the visitors to gain a better understanding of the oil discovery in Bahrain and the rich history and milestones of Bahrain’s oil sector. At the conclusion of the tour, the delegation described the visit as highly educational and thanked Bapco for their efforts and arrangements, who in turn expressed their pleasure at receiving the officials.

BAPCO Plant Information (PI) System was installed in 1993 to historize long term life data from all process units in the Refinery, Sitra, Wharf, Awali, and Gas Distribution Network, monitor and analyze plant performance, and subsequently improve on the profitability. Being the heart of Bapco’s process data, PI system is used by multi-discipline staff from Management, Operations, Maintenance, Technical Engineers, Sales and Accounting. It is also utilized to exchange instantaneous data between different control systems in various areas and to facilitate the main data repository for Operation Excellence Management System (OEMS) and its Dashboard XHQ system. In September 2015, Plant Engineering-Systems Support with the help of EMI (a PI system integrator) carried out a major upgrade of PI system. The work involved installing new

servers and storage arrays, upgrading PI software to PI-2015 version, and upgrading the PI interfaces to the control systems and the PI Asset Framework software. The servers and storage are operated in a redundant configuration technology for data replication ensuring no loss of data in case of failure of either the primary PI server or the data storage. The new PI-2015 version has a number of security and system management enhancement as well as allowing the PI data archives to span historical, current and future data. As part of this upgrade, work was also done on the PI-ACE (Advanced Computing Engine) and PI-AF (Asset Framework). PI-ACE allows for complex calculations to be time or event triggered with flexible scheduling options.PI-AF helps in the organization of data and assets. The user can create a hierarchy of assets and equipment and link these to PI data or data from other sources such as relational databases. For each type of equipment (turbine, compressor, boiler etc…) a template can be created and re-used, thus saving implementation time. PI-AF also provides PI Event Frames that help to capture, track, compare and analyze events and process data based on triggers and start and end times. These can be used for events such as asset downtime, process excursions, product runs and equipment startup and shutdown.Plant Engineering-Systems Support are proud to manage and maintain over 20 years of online process data in the PI system and make this data available to users in various departments to help them in their tasks of monitoring the operation and performance of process units and equipment and also in incident investigations. The new features of the PI system, PI-ACE and PI-AF will enable us to provide an even higher and better level of services to our users.

Training Tips for Employees

Plant Information (PI) System Upgrade Carried Out

Regular training for employees is crucial to expanding their skillset and enabling them to become better competent at their jobs. The following are a few points that can help you train your employees and get the best out of them:• Make sure employees are continuously learning - in today’s fast-paced economy, if a

business isn’t learning, it’s going to fall behind. A business learns as its people learn. Communicate your expectations that all employees should take the necessary steps to hone their skills and stay on top of their professions or fields of work. Make sure you support those efforts by providing the resources needed to accomplish this goal.

• Use quality instructors and training materials - the people and other resources that you use to conduct training programmes will make a major difference in the success the

training conducted. Having the right training materials is also crucial because, once the training is completed; these materials become valuable resources and reference points for the trained employees.

• Understand that training for your employees is an investment – training will help employees gain valuable skills that can improve their style of working greatly. Although it may involve a large financial sum to begin with, training is certainly a long-term investment in the growth and development of your employees and ultimately your organisation.

• Training should be an ongoing process in your organisation - don’t limit these programmes only to newly recruited manpower. Well-organised, ongoing training programmes will sharpen and maintain the skills of all employees, and in turn they stand to growth professionally and personally.

• Begin slowly and gather pace - before rolling out your training program to the masses, rehearse with a small group of users and gather their feedback. This sort of informal benchmarking exposes weaknesses in your training plans and helps you fine-tune the training process.

• Track progress - without being able to measure the outcome, it will not be easy to view training as anything more than an expenditure for the organisation. Once you have determined what kind of growth you would like to see in your employees, you can then figure out how to measure their progress.

Market Highlights:1. The Executive Chairman of PIRA Energy Group delivered last Thursday a more bullish oil price outlook than the «lower for longer» theme now held by many industry executives as well as some banks such as Goldman Sachs. He warned that the current market slump was setting the stage for prices to surge to $75/bbl within two years. PIRA expects oil to hit $70/bbl by the end of 2016 and to trade at $75/bbl the following year.

2. Saudi Aramco last Sunday lowered the official selling prices (OSPs) for its crude oil grades lifting in November and bound for Asia by $1-$2/bbl from October levels.

3. The Arab Light crude was lowered by $1.70/bbl from October, Arab Medium by $1.90/bbl and Arab Heavy by $2.0/bbl.

4. Saudi Aramco is in confidential negotiations with China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) to acquire a minority stake in at least one of CNPC’s new refineries and some 300 retail outlets, sources familiar with the matter said. CNPC operates 26 refineries and petrochemical businesses. The deal is estimated to be worth around $1 billion to $1.5 billion. Discussions started about five months ago, but it remains unclear when a deal will be finalized. Saudi Aramco is being advised by Deutsche Bank, while CNPC is working with HSBC Plc and Citic Securities, according to the sources.

5. Saudi petrochemicals Sabic and Korea’s SK Global Chemical have inaugurated a joint venture which will operate a 230,000 tons/year specialty polyolefins plant at the port of Ulsan in southeastern Korea. Besides bringing Sabic 50% equity in the plant, the venture also gives it access to SK’s proprietary Nexlene process technology.

The $640mn agreement was concluded in July, after SK started up the plant in May. The plant will produce linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), polyolefin plastomers and polyolefin elastomers using metallocene catalysts. These will be sold to manufacturers in the packaging, automotive, healthcare, footwear and electrical and lighting industries.

Bapco’s EHSC Committee held their monthly meeting for October, where the following items were discussed:

• There was no Lost Time Injury (NLTI) or Non-Lost Time Injury (LTI) during September 2015; however 2 first aid injuries were reported during September 2015.• The EHSC extended its congratulations to all on achieving the significant milestone of 14 million hours without a LTI on EHS Family Day. In order to achieve our next target of 15 million hours without an LTI, we must remain focused by using all the tools available to us such as “4 Keys to Safety” and “Osool Bapco” to prevent all injuries and “never lose our sense of vulnerability”.• 8 Process Safety Incidents were recorded during September 2015, out of which one incident was classified as Tier 1 as per API RP754 standard. This was due to a leak in the open sleeve of a 3” Stripper Naphtha line from 2 HDU to 1VBU on 22nd September 2015. A detailed investigation is being carried out to identify the root cause(s) and appropriate actions will be taken to prevent a recurrence.• There were 5 vehicle accidents during September 2015, 3 involving Bapco and 2 contractor drivers. 2 accidents were due to Bapco driver fault.

• A deep dive was presented on road traffic accidents. YTD there have been 88 vehicle accidents compared to 82 in 2014. The increase in the total number of vehicle accidents compared to last year, which was not a good performance, was noted by the EHSC; a companywide defensive driving course is currently being offered. However, a number of the nominated staff has still not completed this training. It was re-iterated that all the nominated must complete this essential training if they are to continue driving Company vehicles. • There was 1 unplanned flaring incident during September 2015. The Environmental Performance Index (EPI) currently stands at 5.65 vs. target of 7. We must continue with our efforts to reduce unplanned flaring and oil spills in order to achieve our target EPI of 7.0.• The EHSC expressed its sincere gratitude to the EHS Week Organizing Committee, the various sub-committees and to all the supporting staff for their contribution towards a very successful EHS week culminating in the Family Day on 10th October at the BIC which was attended by approximately thirty thousand people. This event has reaffirmed our commitment towards corporate social responsibility by raising EHS awareness amongst our staff, contractors their families, and community at large.

Digital Oilfields in Next GenerationIndian Oil commissions unit at Paradip refinery

NYMEX crude oil prices fall onChina’s economic numbers

In the wake of low oil and gas prices, the next generation of “digital oilfields” will be needed to support the Middle East’s rapidly-growing for oil exploration and production over the next five years, declared industry experts today attending GITEX Technology Week 2015.While global crude oil prices have dropped to their lowest levels in months, to USD 45-50 per barrel, the Middle East is set to be one of the world’s-fastest growing region for oil demand in 2016, reaching 94 million barrels per day in 2016, according to a recent report by the Organisation for Petroleum Exporting Countries. With the oil and gas industry facing limited resources for exploration and production, energy firms are under high pressure to fully digitise their operations over the next five years, in order to maximize resources and accelerate cycle times, according to a new report by Frost & Sullivan.GITEX Technology Week 2015 is hosting a wide range of technology exhibitors and thought leaders in the oil and gas sector, who are anticipating the growing need for energy solutions across cyber-security, integrating exploration and production, and process optimization.“With our Technology Vision 2015 report showing that about half of the Middle East’s organizations are already actively investing in digital technologies, the region’s oil and gas companies need to ensure that they capitalize on the data opportunity by applying advanced analytics to generate measurable outcomes. This journey of digital transformation will have a significant impact on the industry’s operations and its workforce, helping the sector to continue to post sustainable growth,” said Kausar Qazilbash, Global Lead for Digital Business for Oil and Gas and Utilities Industries, Accenture. At GITEX Technology Week 2015, the GTX Ignite conference is hosting key energy speakers such as Kausar Qazilbash, Global Lead for Digital Business for Oil and Gas and Utilities Industries, Accenture; Michael Gibbs, CIO, BP; and Antoine E. Milan, Milan Executive Partner – Natural Resources,

Middle East, Africa, Turkey, IBM.Additional energy organizations include the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer), ADNOC Distribution, Industrial Internet Consortium, and Royal Dutch Shell.Across the Middle East, digital oilfields are using real-time analysis of Big Data to enhance workflow, day-to-day operations, decision-making, and profitability enabling companies to reorient workflows and operations.Cloud-based mobile data centres can provide local area networks, satellite communications, storage and backup, automation, and firewalls; and enable mobile workforces. Middle East oil and gas firms are also adopting wearables for real-time information, monitoring safety, and managing workflows, according to Frost & Sullivan. In the near future, oil and gas firms could use 3D printing to produce spare drilling parts site, eliminating inventory investments, transportation, maintenance, and obsolescence. Deep-sea robots powered by renewable energy could install the spare parts, monitor drilling, and maintain pipelines, added Frost & Sullivan.“The GCC hosts one of the region’s largest oil and gas reserves, and energy firms in the region are on the cutting-edge of innovation. Now is the time for firms to fully digitise their operations to prepare for increased exploration and production in the near future,” said Trixie Loh Mirmand, Senior Vice President, Exhibitions & Events Management, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organizers of GITEX Technology Week 2015.“Technology solutions can help energy firms to simplify their systems and integrate their value chain, while unlocking enhanced profit and return on investment, and safer environments,” added Trixie LohMirmand.Accenture, the professional services company, will serve as the Digital Transformation Partner for GITEX Technology Week, supporting the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector.

Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. (IOC) has commissioned another unit at its long-delayed 15 million-tonne/year, full-conversion refinery at Paradip, on India’s northeastern coast (OGJ Online, Nov. 16, 2011).The refinery’s diesel hydrotreater began operations on Oct. 13, IOC said. The unit is designed to process 5.2 million tpy of blended gas oil to produce ultralow-sulfur diesel that with a maximum sulfur content of 10 ppm, the company said. The diesel hydrotreater uses Shell Global Solutions’ (SGS) deep hydrodesulfurization technology (OGJ Online, Apr. 29, 2015).IOC previously initiated crude processing at Paradip’s atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit in late April, with the unit now producing LPG, naphtha, kerosene, gas oil, reduced crude oil, and other products. While secondary units were gearing up for startup at the time, IOC Director Sanjiv Singh said full commissioning of the integrated refining complex likely would take 6-8 months. The $5-billion grassroots refinery, which began some startup activities in early 2014, initially was scheduled to become fully operational in November 2013, with additional commissioning of units subsequently

rescheduled for December 2014 (OGJ Online, Aug. 14, 2014; Mar. 13, 2013).By late November 2014, however, local media reported official commissioning at Paradip would not occur until late March or early April (OGJ, Dec. 1, 2014, p. 34).Production from the refinery will be transported domestically via pipeline (20-25%), rail (20-25%), trucking (15-20%), with coastal movement of products (40-50%), including exports, to be shipped through a southern jetty at the complex owned by Paradip Port Trust, the company said.Configured to process a broad basket of crudes, including less expensive heavy and high-sulfur crude grades, to produce Euro 4 and Euro 5-standard fuels, the refinery has an overall Nelson complexity factor of 12.2.

Light, sweet crude oil prices for November delivery dropped more than $1/bbl Oct. 19 to settle below $46/bbl on theNew York market after China released quarterly statistics showing that economic growth had fallen to 6.9% for the 3 months ended in September. It was the slowest growth rate since the global financial crisis of 2009. Citi Futures analyst Tim Evans said a number of factors contributed to weak oil price fundamentals, including China’s statistics.“Although a tick more than the consensus expectation for a 6.8% scorecard, it still marked the slowest quarterly performance since first quarter 2009 and was a disappointment given the government stimulus efforts so far this year,” Evans added. But analysts said events scheduled for Oct. 21 could provide some price support. A technical meeting between members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and non-OPEC nations was scheduled Oct. 21 in Vienna.

Commerzbank analysts said they saw “little chance of any concrete steps to reduce the oversupply” being agreed upon, but they also noted that even the prospect of a minimal consensus could provide some short-term price support.Separately, the US Energy Information Administration was scheduled to release its weekly inventory report for oil and product supplies on Oct. 21. Expectations were that supply would continue to drop, which would also help support oil prices.Energy pricesThe November crude oil contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange declined $1.37 to $45.89/bbl on Oct. 19 while the December crude oil contract was down $1.44 to $46.28/bbl.The natural gas contract for November increased by 1.2¢ to a rounded $2.44/MMbtu. The Henry Hub, La., gas price rose 4¢ to $2.42/MMbtu.Heating oil for November delivery was down 4.7¢ to a rounded $1.45/gal. The price for reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenates blending for November dropped 7.6¢ to a rounded $1.25/gal.The December ICE contract for Brent crude declined $1.85 to $48.61/bbl, and the January contract dropped $1.80 to $49.31/bbl. ICE gas oil for November settled at $447/tonne, down $9.25.The average price for the OPEC basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $44.92/bbl on Oct. 19, down 79¢.Ogj.com

Memorable Moments

Proteas Dominate, Team India in need of Win

South Africa’s tour to India commenced on October 2, and as of the last week of the month, the Proteas have bagged both the T20 and ODI tournaments with 2-0 and 3-2 victory margins respectively. With the test series kicking off on 5 November in Mohali, India will need to rethink

their strategy and find a way to curb the South Africans if they want their hands on the Test trophy. ODI Man-of-the-Series AB De Villiers and young wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock have spearheaded the inflow of runs for the visitors, while 20-year old newcomer Kagiso Rabada has picked up

prized scalps at will.Like in the final game of the ODI series when South Africa piled on a merciless 438/4, AB de Villiers and his men can get out of hand if not dismissed early, and Virat Kohli and company will also need to figure out a way to step it up and consolidate better batting partnerships. India have shown their fighting spirit and ability to take control in flashes. The constant jumbling of the batting order may have been an excuse in the past, but come November 5 it’s a new day and both teams start out on an equal note with the Test trophy up for grabs.
