The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 186,000 American men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, making it the

second most common cancer among men. Closer to home, the District of Columbia has the unfortunate distinction of leading the United

States in both the incidence of prostate cancer and its mortality rates. In 2011, there were 580 incidences of Prostate Cancer in the DC, and of

that 580 incidences, 90 deaths occurred.
