practices is being a physician. He

works in medicine and surgery.

– The Doctor’s day to day life might be very luxurious

for himself. Also, it might be filled with surgeries and

medical visits. Also, he did not read the bible very

much.

– Some details Chaucer includes about the Doctor’s

physical appearance and personality is the Doctor

wears “blood-red garments, slashed with blush-gray

and lined with taffeta (449-450).” The Doctor’s

personality was non-religious, greedy, and smart

in medicine, surgery, and astronomy. He was

well-versed, but selfish.

and why?

– The modern day occupation that might correspond

to our medieval character, the Doctor, would be a

regular doctor, physician, or a pharmacist because

most doctor’s are wealthy, smart, and pharmacist

deal with medicine.
