YES ABROAD PROGRAMME—BUILDING RELATIONSHIP

The school believes in building relationship with the schools in country and in abroad. Keeping the objec-
tive alive , the school is a part of Yes Abroad Programme where students from USA come every year
staying with host families and studying about Indian religion and culture. He /she participate in different
academics and co-curricular activities throughout the year. In the current academic year 2018-19, a stu-
dent Luka Christopher has come from Hawaii; USA .He has joined the school on 9 July 2018 and will
stay till 7 May 2019 in India. He is a 16-year-old boy, quite confident, enthusiastic, extrovert and actively
participates in the activities held in the school. We expect and encourage such programmes as it enables
the students of both the countries to bridge the gap and learn about each other‟s religion and culture too.

The students of grade 2 presented Shri Krishna Leela to
mark the occasion of Janamashtami. It was celebrated
with a lot of religious fervor, enthusiasm and gaiety.
The celebrations began with the ceremonial lamp light-
ing ceremony, followed by a devotional song. Students
were dressed as “Bal Gopals”, “Gopis”, “Gwalas”,
“Yashoda” and “Krishna” and many other characters
related to their scenes. The children enthralled the audi-
ence with their stupendous performance depicting vari-
ous scenes from Shri
Krishna‟s life. The stu-
dents showcased their talent and danced beautifully to the melodious songs
portraying Shri Krishna‟s journey from birth to his childhood days. The
school Principal Ms. Arti Chopra addressed the gathering and also laid im-
portance on the teachings of Shri Krishna. The children looked adorable in
their traditional costumes and the entire auditorium had transformed into a
land of celebration and happiness. “Victory of good over evil” was em-
phasized upon by the little ones. The bright and joyful faces lit the festive
aura with the spirit of love, devotion and faith. The school Headmistress
Ms. Sonia Nagpal appreciated the children for their wonderful performance
and also applauded the teachers for their amazing efforts.
KRISHNA LEELA —CLASS 2 PRESENTATION

Students of grade 3 showcased a splendid class presentation on the theme of „Rendezvous with Books‟ on
20th September, 2018. The show commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by Ga-
nesha Vandana with a shloka by the students along with a warm welcome address by the Principal Ms Arti
Chopra who threw light on Amity‟s vision of paving way for future leaders who are voracious readers &
outstanding orators. The lineup of the presentation was structured in a story of two children Nitya &
Raghav who happenned to meet the characters of the famous books namely „20000 Leagues Under The
Sea by Jules Verne, „ The Hundred Dresses‟ by Eleanor Estes, „Alice in Wonderland‟ by Lewis Carroll,
„Malgudi Days‟ by R.K Narayan and „Akbar Birbal‟ by Monisha Mukundan. Students exhibited enthrall-
ing performances through which they illuminated the fun factors in learning through reading books. The
presentation was a wholesome treat to all the senses with a series of dance performances, skits & a rap
song showcased by the students. The performance concluded with students bringing forward the values
each story carried in itself. Vote of thanks was proposed by the Headmistress Ms Sonia Nagpal who appre-
ciated the hard work and team spirit of the Coordinator Ms Parvathi Subrahmanian, students and teachers
of grade 3. Parents also applauded the show wholeheartedly by saying that it was an exemplary display of
talent which got them reminiscing their own childhood.

WORKSHOP ON PARENTING—DR. V.S RAVINDRAN
Renowned Educational psychologist Dr V. S . Ravindran visited the school on 1st September 2018 to conduct a workshop on parenting. He is a well known counselor, trainer and educator involved with training of people in leadership position in educational institutes, corporate & Government Organizations. Parents were very excited to be a part of this parenting session and they registered themselves online for the same a week ago. The session began with the lighting of the lamp. Respected Principal
Ma’am welcomed Prof V.S. Ravindran. He talked about the basic principles of parenting which are Patience and Practice. He advised parents to be very patient and control anger and stress while dealing with the children. He laid lot of emphasis on spending light ,happy moments with children and not to act like advisors or teachers to them all the time. According to Prof Ravindran these happy moments spent with kids are going to retain in their memories through out the life and it will ultimately strengthen the bond between the child and parents. He explained the complicated aspects of parenting in very simple and humorous way. Parents also put forward their questions from Prof. Ravindran to which he answered. He also highlighted the power of an assertive No and a happy Yes to the demands made by kids these days Moreover he also focused on the aspect of mutual respect for parents, Grand parents and school in the mind of young children. Parents were very satisfied and enlightened after attending the session and stood together to give a standing ovation to Prof Ravindran
WORKSHOP ON CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM ON HISTORY
CBSE organized a two day Capacity Building Programme on
History at Amity International School, Sec 46,Gurgaon on
30th and 31st August 2018. The workshop was conducted by
Ms. Anita Raina and Ms Priyanka Sharma . The objective of
the workshop was to provide a platform to learn and share
knowledge and discuss instructional strategies to meet various
learning objectives. 35 teachers from different schools across
NCR participated in the event. The session began with an intro-
duction followed by an interesting activity. It helped the teachers
to adopt various techniques to make the teaching and learning
process more effective. The workshop revolved around active
discussions between the teachers and the resource person. Teach-
ers were introduced to various innovative methods for teaching History. Various activities like mind
mapping, crossword puzzles, Quiz, role plays, presenting lesson plans and also sharing their per-
sonal experiences was a part of workshop. It was thus a fun-filled and enriching session, full of hands‟-
on activities for the teachers to indulge in and learn from. The Principal, Ms. Arti Chopra, applauded the
interest shown by the enthusiastic participation of the teachers and the efforts put in by the CBSE to ar-
range such kind of informative workshops to enrich the learning experience of the teachers.

Gauri Gaur of Class 11 brought laurels to the school for attaining First po-
sition in Under 17, SGFI Cricket Nationals. She was awarded by Mrs.
Kavita Jain, Present MLA of Sonipat and Cabinet minister in Government
of Haryana state with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 at an Award ceremony
held at Tau Devilal Stadium on 15 August,2018. School Principal, Mrs.
Arti Chopra applauded her for stupendous achievement.
SGFI CRICKET NATIONALS—WINNER UNDER 17
Ishita Karwal‟s painting was selected in best 83 paintings and displayed in 1st
International travel art exhibition at various places, organized by FACE Interna-
tional India on Dalai Lama's 83rd birthday celebration.
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL ART EXHIBITION—ISHITA KARWAL
Shashwat Vishal, Vaibhav Sharma and Ayush Dhiman of class 9 participated in
World Robotic Olympiad held in Faridabad on August 19, 2018 They qualified
the regional round and represented AISG-46 in the national round of WRO-2018
held in Ahemdabad on 15th and 16th September.
