The Beginning• The Burnaby School District had six senior staff members including the

Superintendent/CEO, two Assistant Superintendents and three Directors of Instruction in the first year of their roles

• The Superintendent wanted to take advantage of the collective wisdom which exists in the BCSSA and with recently retired Superintendents

Coaching/Mentorship

• Looking to develop a coaching model to support the leaders independent of the senior management – a safe place to grow, ask questions etc.

• Looking to develop a pro-growth, mentorship, approach to developing the skills and attributes outlined in the BCSSA Dimensions of Practice
