On 8th & 9th October, 2009 the Peer Team of NAAC visited the college and awarded

‘C’ Grade (CGPA - 1.99). After visiting, it ordered to install “Quality Assurance Cell” to

enhance the standards of the college and demanded submission of yearly reports. As per

order of NAAC the college is sending Quality Assurance Report and is also trying its level

best to improve educational, academic, social and cultural standards of the students by

conducting different activities in the college.

Methodology adopted by the IQAC was divided in to three parts

1. System Study of College.

2. Finding the new ideas in teaching and learning.

3. Suggestive corrective actions.

NAAC Peer Team visited our college on 8th & 9th October, 2009 and awarded ‘C’

grade (CGPA – 1.99). We got certificate in February 2010. As per order, we constituted

IQAC committee to give specific direction to various activities in the college.

The college tried to conduct various programmes. The plan of action chalked out by

the IQAC was followed in beginning of the session 2009-10 towards quality enhancement

and the outcome achieved at the end of the year is given below.

Being flood affected Mowad is in a financial crisis and this area is backward. In such

condition the college is entering in its 13 yrs and rendering valuable service in the field of

Higher Education to the residents of Mowad and neighbouring villages. Nagar Parishad

Shivaji Mahavidyalaya is situated in rural and socially backward area. We are imparting the

education to the children of mostly illiterate parents, who are either farmers or labours. As

compare to the boys’ students, a number of girl students is more. Parents are indifferent

about the education of their wards. Hence it is challenging task for the college administration

to uplift and upgrade overall progress of these students. Keeping in view, the following

programmes are arranged.

Adoption of a rural slum in addition to a village adopted by NSS and providing health

education , sports and other services so as to create awareness amongst slum dwellers,

specially children as a part of community service extension by the college.

• To motivate teachers for Ph.D. and NET/SET.

• For optimum utilization of physical and human resources in the department of sports

and physical education, college has planned to organized camps for selected games

and YOGA. College is going to submit a proposal for University level games such as

Weightlifting, Power lifting, Best Physique and Volleyball.

• To organize seminars and workshop for faculty development by the department of

English, Marathi, Economics, History, Sociology, Political Science, Library and

Physical Education.

• Strengthening the student-parent-teacher interaction network.

DEPARTMNET OF MARATHI:

• To conduct lectures of a resource person.

• To organize elocution competition.

• To conduct Vidharbha Sahitya Sangh examination.

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION:

• To organize university level tournaments.

The outcome achieved by the college:

IQAC committee is regretted to inform you that the planning design for the year

2009-10 could not be fully achieved due to financial problem. We do not get any grant from

government except salary grant. Inspite of that the college has tried to fulfill the basic needs

of the college. The College has purchased necessary equipment and other infrastructure

facilities. The books, journals and CD’s are made available to the students. Near about

106830/- rupees are spent on equipments and infrastructural facilities like scanner, garden

maintenance, computer repairing, building maintenance, electricity, painting & furniture etc.

Near about 26659/- rupees are spent on Library books, journals and CD’s from student’s

tuition fees.

For the all round development of the students, the college has formed a new Local

Managing Committee.

Various cultural, sports and social programmes were arranged throughout the year by

various committees. These committees helped the students to develop their interest in studies,

reading reference books along with text books to generate a sense of social service and

responsibility. It also helps them to develop their personality. To achieve the goals and

objectives, we organized the following programmes.

Department of Marathi organized elocution and debate competition. Department of

history organized a historical tour to Ajanta, Yelora Caves and Fort of Daulatabad in

Maharashtra.

Cultural Committee:

1. On 27 \ 07 2009 the Cultural department organized introductory programme for the

student who have taken admission in B.A. I. on this occasion students gave their

introduction. The programme Was presided Over by the principal Dr. Kishor Zilpe .

2. The Teachers day was celebrated on 5th

September 2009 under the guidance of

Tinkeshwarji Kalambe, Member Nagar Parishad Mowad. The Programme was

presided over by the Principal.

3. On 2nd

October Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti & Lalbahadur Shastri Jayanti was

celebrated. The porgramme was presided over by the Prof. N.D. Balpande.

4. On 26th

November 2009 Department Conducted Constitution Day programme Prof.

B.S. Haste delivered lecture on constitution day.

5. On 28th

November 2009 Mahaparinirvan Day of Mahatma Fule was celebrated.

Purushottam Wadbuhe delivered speech on this occasion. The programme was

presided over by Prof. Ashok Bhakte.

6. Dr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Din was celebrated on 6th

December 2009 Prof. Ms.

P.B. Kamdi delivered a speech on the life and work of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The

programme was presided over by Prof. N.D. Balpande.

7. The college conducted the cultural and sports activities from 4th

February to 5th

Feb

2009. The programme was inaugurated at the hands of Panjabraoji Malode President

Nagar Parishad. Mowad. Dr. K.R. Zilpe presides over the function. Different

competitions such as Singing, Essay Writing, Dance Competitions, Elocution

Competitions, Play Competition, Rangoli &Food Exhibition, were organized by the

cultural department. Winners were given prizes at the hands of Panjabraoji Malode

(Former President Nagar Parishad Mowad.) Kusumtai Lunge, Dr. K.R. Zilpe,

Principal Nagar Parishad Shivaji Mahavidyalaya Mowad.

8. On 10 \ 12 \2009 Elocution competition was conducted. Subject of the competition

was ‘Human rights of the children’.

9. On 01 \01 \ 2010 Singing Competition was organized on the occasion of New Year’s

Day.

10. Krantijyoti Savitribai Fule Jayanti was celebrated on 03 \ 01 \2010.

11. Shivaji Jayanti was celebrated on 19 \02 \2010 Dr. Kishor Zilpe presided over the

function.

12. On 14/04/2010 Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated.

Department OF Adult and Continuance Education:

Inauguration:

On the occasion of population day on 11th

July 2009, inaugural programme was

organized. It was inaugurated at the hands of Shri Panjabraoji Malode, Former President,

Nagar Parishad Mowad. Essay Competition was also held on this occasion. The topic of the

essay was ‘Growth in population is an obstacle in nation’s development’.

International Literacy Day:

On 8th

September 2009, elocution competition was organized. The Subject of the

competition was ‘Information Literacy need of an hour’.

Cleanliness & Congress Herb Eradication Programme:

On the death anniversary of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj on 11th

September 2009,

Cleanliness & Congress Herb eradication programme was organized. By moving through out

the village students cleaned the gutters and roads of the village and also cut the Congress

herb.

Death Anniversary of Rashtrasant Gadgebaba:

On the death anniversary of Rashtrsant Gadgebaba, lecture was organized. The

subject of the lecture was ‘Superstition’. Lecture was delivered by Dr. Anil Gavali. Dr.

Kishor Zilpe Presided over The Function.

Essay competition:

Under the department of Adult and Continuance Education, Rashtrsant Tukdoji

Maharaj Nagpur University, inter collegiate essay competition was held on ‘Patriotism in the

Literature of Rashtrsant’.

College has sent the essay of the students Mr. Nitin Mankar (B.A.III) Ms. Rajshree

Khajone (B.A.II) and Ms. Chaya Thombre (B.A. III) to the adult and continuance education

department of Rashtrsant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. 49 colleges were

participated in this competition.

Our student Mr. Nitin Mankar (B.A.III) won the first prize of the competition and Ms.

Rajshree Khajone (B.A.II) won the second prize.

Hono’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. S. N. Pathan, Rashtrsant Tukadoji Maharj Nagpur

University Nagpur and Pro VC. Dr. Gaurishankar Parashar has given the cash Prize of Rs.

1500/- and certificate to the first winner and cash prize of Rs. 1000/- and certificate to the

second winner.

Department of Physical Education and Sports Committee:

Badminton:

Badminton Team of N. P. Shivaji Mahavidyalaya was participated in Inter Collegiate

level competition organized by Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University at Subhedar

Hall, Ravinagar. Nagpur on 19/09/2009.

Volleyball:

Intercollegiate Volleyball Competition under Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur

University Nagpur was organized by Shree Pandharinath Mahavidyalaya Narkhed on

01/10/2009.in which college volleyball team was participated. Team’s performance was

satisfactory.

Volleyball Trail:

1. Under RTM Nagpur University trail competition was held during 01/10/2009 to

07/10/2009 at RTM NAgpur University play ground, Amravati road, Nagpur. In that

trail competition Raju Bargat of our college was selected. He participated in

Ashwamegh 2009 13th Maharashtra State Inter University Sports, as a RTM Nagpur

University Representative, which was organized by Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Krishi

Vidyapeeth, Dapoli Dist. Ratnagiri on 27th November 2009 to 1st December 2009

and he was awarded with gold medal in volleyball.

2. Raju Bargat was participated in west zone Inter University Volleyball championship

held at Anand, Gujrat organized by Sardar Patel University on 26th October 2009 to

30th October 2009.

3. Mr. Yusuf Sheikh of B.A. II year acquired first position in 62 Kg. category

Weightlifting organized by Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University which

was held at K. D. Pawar Physical Education College, Saoner, Dist Nagpur.

4. Mr. Rupesh Khode of B.A. first year also got first position in 94 Kg. category

Weightlifting organized by Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University held at

K. D. Pawar Physical Education College, Saoner, Dist Nagpur

Pranayam and Yogsadhana Camp:

Two day Pranayama and Yogsadhana camp was organized on 26/02/2009 and

27/02/2009. It was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Kishor Zilpe, Principal N.P. Shivaji

College Mowad. Pranayama and Yogsadhana training was given to the students by Prof.

Vijay Dhote Arvindbabu Deshmukh Mahavidyalaya, Bharshingi; Prof. Manoj Varma.

Chatrapati Physical education Mahavidyalaya Katol.

Inter collegiate Competition:

The College conducted sports activities in the college from 02/02/2010 to 05/02/2010.

On this occasion, the sports department conducted Volleyball, Cricket and Athletic

competition for boys and Running, Short Put and Jumping for girls.

Medical and Physical Test:

Medical Test of the students was conducted on 18/12/2009 to 19/12/2009. Physical Test

was also conducted on 02/02/2010 to 03/02/2010 Prof. Dipak Araspure, Jivan Vikas

Mahavidyalaya, Thugaondeo was External. Its report was submitted to Nagpur University.

N. S.S. Committee:

Besides imparting Knowledge N.S.S. department of the college organized various

activities for the overall development of the students. In the regular programme of N.S.S.150

students are nominated. Out of them 75 students are selected for Special Camp. Throughout

the year department has tried to organize various activities so as to develop social

commitment, Nation integrity, and discipline among the students.

Out line of the N.S.S. programme was decided in the meeting which was held on 7th

August 2009. Following programmes were conducted during the Session 2009-2010.

1) Inauguration:

On 25th

August 2009 inauguration of the department was done at the hands of

Mrs. Kusumtai Lunge Chairperson, Education department, Nagar Parishad Mowad. In this

programme Raju Bargat was selected as student representative of N.S.S.

2) Tree plantation:

On 15th

August 2009 tree plantation programmes was carried out the hands of

Panjabraoji Malode, Former President N.P. Mowad in the premises and surrounding area of

the college.

Sadbhavna Rally: On ‘Good Will Day’ 20th

August 2009 a grand rally was organized in the

leadership of Prof. A. B. Bhakte.

3) Literacy Day:

On the occasion of literacy day ‘Literacy Rally’ was organized on 8th

Sept-2009.

Guest lecture was also organized on this occasion which was delivered by Prof. Narnaware,

Shree Pandharinath Mahavidyalaya Narkhed.

4) Labour Donation & Cleanliness programme:

Work of leveling and cleanliness of the play ground was carried out by the students of

N.S.S. under the guidance of Porf. A. B. Bhakte on 18th

&19th

September 2009.

5) Blood Donation:

On 25th

September 2009. Nagar Parishad Mahavidyalaya in collaboration with

Primary Health Center Mowad and Police Station Mowad organized blood donation camp

programme. It was chaired by Dr. Kishor Zilpe Principal N. P. Shivaji College Mowad

Mrs. Arunatai Kumbharkar Member N.P. Mowad inaugurated the programmes. Dr. Rahul

Raut and Dr. Sanjay Solanki Health Officer Primary Health Center Mowad, Dixit Sir

Sub-Inspectorand Tinkeshwarji Kalambe Member N.P. Mowad were also present on this

occasion.

In this camp 35 Students of the college donated their blood. Teams of Indira Gandhi

Medical College Blood Bank Nagpur come to assist & collect the blood.

6) Environment & Protection of Tree Day:

Environment and Protection of tree day was celebrated on 25th

Sept. 2009.

‘Vrukshdindi’ was taken out on this day and a message of ‘Zade Lava Zade Jagava’ was

given out.

7) Public awareness against aids And Grand Rally organization:

On 1st Dec 2009 International Aids Day grand rally was organized. Students

performed street play to make people aware of this deadly disease. Our former students

Madhuri Paliwal was delivered lecture

8) Blind belief awareness and personality development programmes:

A programme on Blind Belief and Personality development was organized on 15th

January 2010. On this occasion Dr. Gavali delivered lecture. N.S.S. Officer Prof. Ashok

Bhakte Chaired the Programmes

9) Special Camp: Youth Power for Village Development:

A Seven day N.S.S. Special Camp was arranged at Wandali (Khurd) Sawarkar from

22nd

December 2009 to 30th

December 2009. It was inaugurated at the hands of

Prof. Narendra Arekar District Co-ordinator N.S.S., District Gadchiroli. Shri Panjabraoji

Malode President Nagar Parishad Mowad chaired the function. Sau Arunatai Sanjay Karokar

Sarpanch Wandli was the Chief Guest. Bhaskarrao Sawarkar Vice-Sarpanch Wandli,

Tinkeshwar Kalambe Member N.P. Mowad, Shri Bhode member N. P. Mowad were also

present on this occasion.

40 girls Student and 34 boys attended the camp. In this seven day camp various

programmes were conducted for the benefits of the villagers and the students. The

Programmes on Cleanliness, Yoga, Personality development. “Bhartiy Arthvyavstha and

Vishwmangal go Gram vidnyan” etc were arranged. Students performed many cultural

activities such as mimicry, dance poet gathering, one act play etc. Sports competitions were

also arranged.

On concluding Day Dr. P.G. Bhoyar, Principal B. Ed. College was the Chief Guest.

Dr. Kishor Zilpe, Principal N.P. Shivaji College Mowad presided over the Function.

For the development of the faculties, the professors participated actively in various

faculty development programmes.

Prof. P. H. Gajbhiye:

1. Participated in UGC sponsored one day National Seminar which was organized on

January 2010 at Govindrao Warjurkar College, Nagbhid. Subject of the seminar

was ‘Special Economic zone in rural India’ organized by the department of political

Science and Sociology, Govindrao Warjurkar College, Nagbhid.

2. Participated in UGC sponsored one day Interdisciplinary National Seminar on

‘Globalization and rural society in India’ organized under the auspices of Economics,

Political Science and Sociology Department, Bhivapur Mahavidyalayay, Bhivapur on

3. Participated in Second International Budhist Conference organized in Nagpur,

Maharashtra on 17th

April 2010. The theme of the conference is ‘Perspective

on Engaged Buddhism along with various subject theme’.

1. Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution:

Taking co-operation from the teachers and educators to uplift and develop the

students residing in the rural area. Nagar Parishad Mowad started Nagar Parishad Shivaji

Mahavidyalaya in 1996 and started its working in Nagar Parishad High school premises in

1997. Hon’ble former Minister Shri Subhodhji Mohite donated money from Khasdar fund for

the construction of the college building.

All the schools and colleges established by the Nagar Parishad Mowad are being run in

Nagar Parishad’s own building. The Teaching and Non Teaching Staff working in the college

are striving hard to develop the backward students in the rural area. There fore the college

has set its goal’s as follows.

• To impart qualitative and valuable service in the field of education to the residents

of Mowad and near by areas.

• To attempt community and social development through infrastructural facilities of the

institution.

• To ensure and inculcate perfect discipline in terms of regularity, sincerity and

punctuality, self confidence amongst the students so that they contribute to the society

and nations as most responsible citizen.

• To aim at overall personality development of the students fraternity through extra

curricular activities.

• To provide platform to the students by giving them an opportunity to face all the

challenges of the competitive world with almost utilization of their potential in sports

To achieve academic excellence, the college with its devoted and qualified staff with

social perspective arrange for extra classes and guest lectures. Through out the year for the

benefit of the students, class overall test are given to improve the overall performance of the

students. The students are given guidance and counseling for preparing their examination.

Opportunities are provided to the students to given expressions to their thoughts and

skills through various events like elocutions, essay writing and delivering speech. Various

activities are also organized through national service scheme, birth and death anniversaries of

eminent personalities are observed and life sketches of them are displayed by cultural

department. Cultural departments also organized “Yuva Mahotsava”. This helped us to find

out their hidden talent by these efforts, we expect the student’s developments. We are proud

to say that most of their showed their attitude in regard.

The college conducted B.A. degree level programe. The University syllabus is

mandatory. Curriculum is updated as per modern trend in a various subjects.

It is mandatory to add here to university syllabus and examination patterns. The

syllabus is unities and department heads monitor the completion of syllabus form time to

time. In addition, principal also interact regularly with faculty members for effective

planning and implementation of curricula. The department on their own constituted “Study

Circle” comprising of a students representatives. This has provided the students a platform to

express their thoughts and perception and understanding of subject. Our college follows a

systematic teaching methodology. The college prepares academic calendar before the session

ends. Every teacher prepares their own teaching plan and unities it according to syllabus and

time table.

Our teacher attended refresher courses, orientation courses, workshop, seminar,

conferences etc. to update their knowledge and to get acquainted with modern trends in their

respective fields. They use these new acquired skills and information in class room teaching

and this way they try to strengthen the teaching – learning process to the core. They mainly

use the lecture method. To make the teaching more meaning full, diagrams, maps and

modern teaching equipments like DVD, LCD Projector etc. are used as per their needs. These

teaching aids created interactive atmosphere in the class and facilitated understanding of

subjects. Though there is noscope to modify the curriculum at college level, we implement it

with special touch of innovative teaching methods like classroom seminar and discussion is

also used. This always helps increasing the understanding of subjects. Activities like guest

lecture, essay writing, elocution competition are organized. These activities proved very

useful for the out look of better understanding for social as well as educational atmosphere.

Elocution competitions are held on the current as well as curriculum base topics. This help to

raise the level of understanding of the students. Thus, the students got opportunity to express

their views on specific topics. The teachers followed continuous evaluation methods by

conducting surprise tests, oral test, written test etc. the performance of each teachers is

monitored by Hon’ble principal.

Respective subject teacher distributed valued answer paper among the students and guided

them for the improvement in the performance wherever was necessary. In some subject class

tests were also conducted.

All the test were made obligatory to the students. To insure proper

attendance of the student for various examinations, fines were imposed on absentees. This

We have active wings of NSS which provided opportunities for community services.

The students have tremendous potential. This potential is channeled through many activities

of social utility. Then the students are exposed to various social problems and motivated to

contribute to the social service. The programme officer has always in mind the hidden

capacity of the students and he inspires them to carry out constructive and useful activities

for the community through the special and one day camps. These help the students to be

more sensitive and aware of social problems and surrounding. In this session the following

31. Activities and support form the parent Teacher:

For the convenience of the parent, college held meetings once in a year. It is observed

that the maximum parents in a rural area are backward and indifferent to the education. The

students are miserably failing to achieve their goals. They are unable to prove their mental

ability, capacity and fulfill the expectation of their parents and teachers. Principal try his

level best to invite the parents in parent- teacher association, but many parents are labour and

economically poor. So they do not attend meetings. Some educated and economically strong

parents do attend the meeting, principal and teacher discuss with them about the progress of

their wards.

a) Through these meeting efforts are made to make aware the parents to pay full attention

towards their wards.

b) Important suggestion mode by the parents are taken in to consideration and implemented.

For the personality development of the students, different programmes were arranged

through Department of NSS. We have Counseling Cell which takes care of academic

counseling. We have a Career Guidance Cell (established in the year 2008) which takes care

of placement counseling. Whenever the college received any information about employment

requirement students are immediately inform about the same through notice board.

Employment News service reference and other News Bulletin with essential

employment information are made available for the students. Career Guidance Cell at our

sportsman spirit, democratic spirit selflessness, self reliance etc., we conduct birth and death

Anniversary of the national heroes and other social programmes through the department of

NSS, Culture and Sports during the academic Session 2009-10. Various programmes like

Birth and Death anniversaries of great patriots and social reformers were celebrated; various

cultural, social employments, self employment and other programmes related to healthy

practices were organized by the college.

On 8th & 9th October NAAC Peer Team visited our college and suggested to start job

oriented, ad-on courses and PG programmes in the emerging areas as well as to seek UGC

recognition under 2f and 12b. As per the recommendation of NAAC Peer team we have

submitted a proposal for 2f and 12b but we fill regret to mention that we are unable to start

job oriented, ad-on courses and PG programmes since we do not get any financial aid from

government expect salary grant.

If we get 2f and 12b recognition from UGC in future we are eager to start the above mention

programme.

NAAC peer Team also suggested orally to start earning sources programme for girls.

We are happy to say that we have started Handicraft classes such as woolen work, Mehandi

& Rangoli classes for girls. Students response was praiseworthy.

Nagar Parishad Shivaji Mahvidyalaya is situated in rural remote and socially

backward area. Most of the parents are either farmers or farm workers who are indifferent

towards the education of their wards. We have been imparting education to the children of

these mostly illiterate and socially backward parents. Number of girls students is higher as

compare to boys students but parents response is always is very poor and dull. Hence it is

challenging task for the college administration to uplift and upgrade overall progress of these

students. Keeping in view, the following programmes are arranged.

Adoption of a rural slum in addition to a village adopted by NSS and providing health

education , sports and other services so as to create awareness amongst slum dwellers,

specially children as a part of community service extension by the college.

• To motivate teachers for Ph.D. and NET/SET.

• For optimum utilization of physical and human resources in the department of sports

and physical education, college has planned to organized camps for selected games

and YOGA. College is going to submit a proposal for University level games such as

Weightlifting, Power lifting, Best Physique and Volleyball.

• To organize seminars and workshop for faculty development

• Strengthening the student-parent-teacher interaction network.

• Addition of more books & journals in the library.

• Strengthening career counseling, personality development programmes and

placement cell.
