GTEX/MENATEX
Date: 8 December 2020Venue: Virtual Translation into French, Arabic and Russian
Concept: The Global Textiles and Clothing Programme (GTEX) and its implementation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENATEX) as well as in Central Asia and in Madagascar is making good progress, despite the challenging circumstances and unsecure outlook for the T&C industry. Important industry and market changes have resulted from the pandemic or have been accelerated by it. At the same time the industry in our beneficiary countries has been reacting flexible and developed some resilience. The webinar will highlight some of the changes and responses. As an increased focus towards a more environmentally friendly production and product offering is one important market shift of the pandemic, we will look how GTEX has progressed on its work on Resource Efficiency and Circular Production. It will also look towards Asia and see what important Asian suppliers are doing to cope with and adapt to the changing scenario. The webinar will then look at expected shifts in EU and US markets. To move forward we look at best practices at supplier level and elaborate on possible new strategies for companies and the entire T&C sectors to capture additional value along the global apparel value chain.
