Information Night for Students Receiving Eucharist for the First Time

Dear Families,

There will be an information night this Thursday for students and

their families who are receiving First Eucharist.

This is an important night session as part of the formation and

preparation for your child to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.

We will begin the night with prayer, followed by two interactive

sessions. One will require students and families to design and paste a

symbol of the Eucharist on their stole. The other activity will require

families to engage in a reflection on the Eucharist.

We will conclude the night with a community prayer.

When: Thursday 9th November

Time: 7pm

Where: St Mary’s School Auditorium

Who: Students and Parents

Congratulations to all the students who completed

the 2017 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge.

Mr White will be giving out certificates

at assembly on Friday.

Parents are invited to attend.

Italian - Ciao From 3/4

La Casa

I loved the song La Casa. It was catchy and Signora Mangone gave us an

activity where we had to draw a picture about the song. I drew La Casa and

she liked it. - Ansh 3/4DO

In Italian class we learnt about a house called La Casa. The song goes like

this: “Era una casa molto carina senza soffitto, senza cucina. Non si poteva

entrarci dentro perche non c’era il pavimento”. - Ben 3/4DO

When we learnt La Casa I was happy because I love Italian and singing!! -

Simren 3/4SB

La Casa is a song about a house that did not have a kitchen, toilet and

floor. I love the song. It’s really funny and I felt confident of my drawing. -

Prabhnor 3/4SB

I learnt that the song says that the house is good, but the house is bad

because it has no ceiling, no kitchen, no floor, no roof or toilet and the song

says it is beautiful. The house number is zero. - Manasseh 3/4DO

I learnt how to say ‘kitchen’ when I was singing La Casa. I memorized the

song by repeating it to myself and checking. - Stevie 3/4SB

The song La Casa is catchy and funny. In my drawing

I drew a toilet, a bed and a house because I thought a toilet was funny. I

drew a bed because I love to sleep. - Alex D. 3/4W

I like the song La Casa because it has a lot of words in Italian. I felt proud of

myself when I drew this picture of La Casa because I put a lot of effort in my

drawing. - Egan 3/4DO

The song is very catchy and it’s funny. I made my house like this because

this was my imagination. - Telei 3/4W

The 146th Annual Dandenong Show is on this weekend at the Dandenong

Showgrounds in Greaves Reserve.

Everyone loves a show with all the colour and excitement it offers and we invite you to come and

experience it all.

See the animals win prizes in the judging ring, enjoy the adrenaline rush of the most hi tech and

modern rides and participate in free activities like the Gum Boot Throw & Great Grocery Giveaway.

From sheep, sideshows and show-bags, the Dandenong Show has something for everyone, with

20,000 visitors from across the country flocking to the city in the second weekend of November.

Founded in 1871, this annual event was an important outlet for the predominantly rural community to

make business contacts and showcase their stock. While both the city and the show have come a long

way since those early days, it

continues to remain true to its roots.
