Students leaving in 2019

If your child will not be returning in 2019 and you have not informed the school please do so

as soon as possible to assist us with class organisation for next year.

Edge 7 formerly GATEway Year 7 2020

The GATEway program that runs at Davidson High School is being replaced by a new

program called Edge 7. An invitation is included in this newsletter for parents of prospective

year 7 2020 students to an information session regarding the new program. If you are

interested in Edge 7 it is recommended that you attend this session as the application

process and timeline has changed considerably.

Year 6 Italian Excursion to Haberfield

On Monday 3rd December Year 6 students accompanied by Mrs Stevens and myself visited the

heritage listed suburb of Haberfield as our ‘gran finale to seven years of Italian studies and to

experience firsthand authentic Italian food and culture. Our walking tour included 12 places of

interest as well as a very informative talk inside St David’s church on the history of the area by

local historian, Wendy Salier.

The students practised their language skills while eating and drinking their way through

pasticcerias (pastry shops), gelaterias (gelato shops), pizzerias and gastronomias (delicatessens).

The students are to be commended for the way they conducted themselves throughout the day.

They were polite and courteous and always mindful of the residents, staff and shop patrons.

A very special “GRAZIE” to the parent helpers, Mr Watts, Mrs Shaw, Mrs Morse, Mrs Donaldson,

Mrs McKinnon and Mrs Louis who gave up their time to drive the students to and from

Haberfield and to supervise a group throughout the day. They enjoyed drinking cappuccino and

espresso as well as shopping for Italian delicacies to take home.

Christmas Auction

Thank you to everyone for your support of the THPS P&C Events Christmas Auction. Some lovely prizes have been won and successful bidders have been notified this week. Thank you to the businesses who donated so generously to our auction.

Uniform Shop VOLUNTEERS NEEDED If anyone is interested in helping out at the uniform shop on a Wednesday afternoon once a month from 2.30-3.30pm please contact Andrea Whitlock ph: 0414 401 035. CLOSURE FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS The last shop opening for 2018 is next Wednesday 12th December. Munch Monitor orders will be finalized Friday 14th December. No more orders can be taken after this date due to stock take. The shop will re-open on Tuesday 29th January from 10.30am - 11.30am. CASHLESS Just a reminder the uniform shop no longer accept CASH or CHEQUES. The Kookaburra Box has been removed from our service. You can use Munch Monitor or pay by eftpos during shop hours.
