THE INTERACTIVE SMART B OARD
HOW IS IT USED TO SUPPORT THE CURRICULUM
Daily Oral Language – On the SMART Board, student are
given two sentences to correct for grammatical errors.
Dissecting Sentences – Teacher can pull a worksheet on
the SMART Board for students to identify parts of speech
like nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.
Teacher has access to pull anything off the web to assist
in the students understanding of Language Arts.
SMART BOARD AT WORK
Students identifying
nouns.
Teacher teaching from
a worksheet on changing
singular and plural
nouns.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Teacher uses the smart board to test student’s knowledge
and skill development.
Using the smart board prepares the students for the CRCT.
The teacher can readily see who understands and who needs
more assistance with the skills being taught.
With the new CCGPS standards, the teacher can use the
SMART Board to show Power Point presentations and videos on
supplemental materials that goes along with the lesson plans.
THE DIFFERENCE
Students get enhanced learning though the use of
the SMART Board
Enjoy the technology with daily practice.
Students hold onto the concepts that are taught
better with the visual in front of class.
SUPPORT ISSUES
There is a good support system at this rural, public school.
Anytime new technology is placed in the classroom, the
teachers get the proper training.
The Media Specialist is available to take care of any
technology or equipment failure.
Also, a Technology Specialist (TS) visits the school once a
week to make sure all equipment is working properly. The TS
also assists with any software problems.
