General Description: _Tau Beta Pi members helped in many different areas of the Ada Music Feast, which is a high school show choir competition that runs all day. Members signed up for four or five hour shifts and worked in various parts of the competition, including running booths, stage setup, kitchen help, and first aid.___________________________________________________ II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: This project helped to raise community awareness of Tau Beta Pi off campus and fulfilled our goals as a service organization by volunteering at Ada High School._______________________________________________________________________ III. General Description: _Tau Beta Pi was given a list of three kids’ names and a brief description of their clothes sizes and favorite activities. Seven of our members split up and bought gifts for the children, wrapped them, and gave them to the children’s parents for Christmas gifts. II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP:_This is a great way to help out the community in a needed way and to spread joy to children in Ada. It’s important for Tau Beta Pi to be an active part of the community in Ada, and helping out needy children is an excellent way to do this. III. Cost & Personnel Requirements: _Each Tau Beta Pi member was expected to purchase about 20 dollars’ worth of Christmas gifts per child. Over-all Evaluation/Results (Be Specific): _The members of Tau Beta Pi realized how fortunate we are and were able to be of service to the people of Ada by providing some families with needed gifts for their children around the holidays. General Description: _TBP members worked as timers, score keepers, or judges, for the High School Quiz bowl competition held at Allen High School. The event is a trivia competition between 5 different high schools that runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. ______ II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: _This project helped to raise community awareness of Tau Beta Pi off campus and promoted the sciences and engineering. ______________ III. General Description:Each month, Tau Beta Pi displays a riddle for students to solve. The students submit the solution to the chief advisor. Each answer is analyzed for correctness and the person who gets the riddle correct is awarded a $25 cash prize. If more than one student gets the riddle correct, a winner is drawn from the pool of correct answers._________________________________________ II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: This project was designed to raise awareness of Tau Beta Pi within the College of Engineering, especially among younger students. III. General Description: _Tau Beta Pi provided one-on-one tutoring sessions for students of the___ Engineering College. Tutoring sessions covered courses in general engineering, introductory____ physics, and calculus classes.______________________________________________________ II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: This project helped to promote the growth and__ quality of engineering by providing an educational service to future engineers._________________ III. Organization & Administration: (in conjunction with another group? ___ Yes _X_ No Tutoring sessions were organized by the vice president of the Tau Beta Pi chapter. ____ IV. Cost & Personnel Requirements: Every Wednesday, two members of Tau Beta Pi were required to dedicate two hours to prescheduled tutoring sessions.__________________________________ V. Special Problems: Previously, it had been difficult to answer all student questions at tutoring because of the diverging knowledge of the spectrum of engineering majors. This year we strived to have one electrical or computer engineering member tutor with one civil or mechanical engineering member. This was a good solution, but it proved difficult to fill the spots due to the lack of ECE students in the chapter. VI. Over-all Evaluation/Results (Be Specific): Tutoring proved to be a valuable experience for the____ promotion of scholarship of campus engineering students, while providing leadership roles for current Tau Beta Pi members.
