Define Disposition• Disposition is the prevailing (main) outlook

of one's mind as displayed in behavior. In other words, my behavior reflects my momentary outlook/convictions.


Define Defensive Disposition• The Church’s outlook is devoted to a posture

against spiritual aggression, which normally involves being reactive (tending to respond to a stimulus) but only when it feels threatened or attacked

• MEANING: The Church’s disposition is one of inactivity until something stimulates it to action


A.We Need a New Disposition• The Church has to change its disposition.

HOW? - By hearing the Word of GOD- By making a radical change in its ATTITUDE - By seeing itself as VICTORIOUS (The Romans)- By no longer being a VICTIM- By taking the OFFENSIVE (becoming

aggressive in spiritual matters)


A.Moses (Joshua 1:10-18/Num 32)

• Because of Moses fearful outlook (disposition) he nearly rejects the Reubenites and Gadites request to inherit their promise

Examples of Radical Views Tolerance(Matt 9:11-13) Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that

behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Kindness(1 Pet 3:8-9) To sum up, all of you be harmonious,

sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.


Examples of Radical Views Obedience(Eph 6:5-6) Bondservants, be obedient to those who are

your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
