Young’s Industrial Estate Aldermaston

Young’s Industrial Estate at Paices Hill, Aldermaston, is one of the longest-established industrial estates in West Berkshire. Family owned and run, it offers thriving

businesses a secure environment in which to grow.

“It has been an industrial estate since the early 1980s,” explained Roy Young, the company secretary for owners Young (Aldermaston) Developments Ltd. “My

grandfather, Ralph Young bought the land back in 1961 when it was the Turner & Hunter timber yard and it had planning permission for gravel extraction. “After the gravel was extracted, we restored the land and got permission for industrial units and it started from there. We have such a diverse range of businesses here and it has created quite a community where people help each other out and buy from one another.”

“Most of our 56 industrial units are occupied, although after recently redeveloping one block, the last new

unit is available to let. Two self-contained offices below Young’s estate office have been professionally refurbished by Newbury Interiors and are now available to let.”

“We also have several older style units available and having demolished another set of buildings there will be the opportunity to join us on the estate as we create new units there too.”

With so much happening on this commercial area, the tenants receive a quarterly newsletter, YOUNG Times, which gives them news and views from the estate.

Roy Young continued: “Our website, www.youngsindustrialestate.co.uk launched in 2006, gives details of any units available to let, and lists all our current tenants, gives details on Paices Wood Country Parkland – which is a thriving nature park – and includes details for Seven Lakes Angling, our fishery set within the beautiful park.
