Asia Summer Program JOSAI Josai and Josai International universities will hold ASP 2015 in

conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the founding of Josai University Educational

Corporation(JUEC)The theme for the ASP 2015 will be A Global Get Together in Japan

Promoting Glocal Exchange in Asia

The ASP began through a shared sense of responsibility felt by leaders of the five founding

universities Bangkok UniversityThailand Dongseo University Korea Josai University

Japan Petra Christian University Indonesia and Universiti Malaysia Perlis Malaysia

In this year the program at JOSAI will be coordinated across three separate campuses

Sakado Campus Togane Campus and Awa Campus offering courses in the specific areas of

studies

We seek to nurture Next-Generation Asian Leaders talented people who can integrate

anywhere in Asia

REGISTRATION FEES

Academic Session = US $900

Academic Session + Yamanashi Trip = US $1150

These fees include course tuition materials for class work airport pick-up and see-off accommodations

3 meals per day during weekdays various other events comprising part of the program and local

transportation for the program

The additional fee of US $250 is required to participate in the 2-days and I-night tour to Yamanashi This

2days trip gives you a teste of the natural beauty ofMtFuji along with the fun and thrills ofJapans one

ofthe popular amusement park Fuji-Q Highland Amusement park Registration for the optional tour is

on a first-come first-served basis it will be closed once all 40 spaces are filled

PAYMENT METHOD AND DEADLINE

Applicants approved for admission to ASP 2015 must pay all required fees to their home university in

accordance with its policies and deadlines The ASP representatives from each participating university

must transfer the collected fees and send them together with all of the accompanying documents for

accepted applicants by May 15th 2015

Regarding the bank transfer of the registration fees please note that the sending fee charged by the bank

is the responsibility of each home university Josai University is responsible for the receiving fee which

is charged by the receiving bank in Japan

VISA ISSUANCE

In cases where a Visa is required for travel to Japan procedures for its procurement will be explained or

arranged by the ASP representatives at the home universities Should an official invitation letter be

needed these will be provided on request following receipt of the necessary documents and registration

fees

Applicants and administrators are strongly advised to begin the Visa application process well in advance

ofthe programs commencement allowing at least one month for processing since a considerable

amount oftime may be needed

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants from participating universities are eligible to apply for admission into any of the courses

offered through the Asia Summer Program It should be considered however that all ofthe courses in

ASP 2015 will be taught through English a suitable level ofproficiency will be expected

Some of the courses may require certain minimum level ofbackgrounds interests and abilities In

particular they should carefully read each courses full description (available online) before selecting it

as one of their preferred choices

COURSE CANCELATION BY ASP 2015

Some courses listed as part of the Asia Summer Program may be cancelled due to factors such as low

enrolment or faculty unavailability Decisions will be made regarding courses to be canceled because of

low enrolment after Josai University receives all ofthe applications sent by the home universities by

April 26th 2015 In these cases students who selected the canceled courses will be asked to choose an

alternative course

CANCELLATIONS BY PARTICIPANTS AND REFUNDS

Notice of cancellation must be received in writing by the following deadlines and according to the

following conditions for eligibility for a refund of fees

Before May 31st 2015 Refund of 70 of academic program minus any bank transfer fees

Between June 1st and 152015 Refund of 50 of academic program minus any bank transfer fees

Between June 16th and July 7th 2015 No refund except in the following instances

a) The applicant was unable to procure a Visa despite early application

b) The applicant became seriously ill or otherwise physically unable to participate in the program

t Please note that specific documentation may be required to verify these conditions Please also note that no

refund will be issued in the event that a participant chooses to quit the program during these dates without

sufficient reason or is disqualified from the program through inappropriate actions

ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS

Josai University shall not be liable for fees associated with independently arranged accommodations or

with travel expenses incurred as a result of actual or expected participation in ASP 2015 including fees

for cancelation or rescheduling of hotels flights or other manners of transportation

FORCE MAJEURE

Josai University shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance in whole or part of any of

its obligations arising from or attributable to acts events omissions or accidents beyond its reasonable

control

INFORMATIONAL MATERIAL

The organizing staff of ASP2015 has taken care to ensure the website and promotional

materials contain updated and accurate information Nevertheless Josai University

reserves the right to make changes deemed appropriate for reasons of operational efficiency

or circumstance

CAMPUS and COURSE SElECTION INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

FOR STUDENTS The ASP2015 will be held at three different locations (Togane Campus Awa Campus Sakado Campus) with each location following the same overall program schedule Each location will offer different academic courses according to the expertise of faculty staff based there Students will be placed at one location for the complete duration of the ASP2015 For logistical reasons changes to campus location will not be possible once the program has commenced It is strongly advised therefore that applicants carefully read the guidelines below and check the ASP2015 website prior to making their course selections

1 Location (Campus)

First applicants should select the location (Le campus) where they would prefer to attend the ASP2015 Please review the course list for each campus and rank your preferred campus in 1 to 3 order where 1 is your most preferred campus 2 your second preference and 13 your third preference Please note that due to enrolment limits at each campus an individuals selection does not guarantee a place at their most preferred location (campus) Applicants may be asked to join the ASP2015 at their second or third preferred location

2 Courses

During the ASP students take one course from the Group A list of courses and one course from Group B Enrolment for courses will be limited thus candidates should rank their preferred course in each group using 1 for their first choice 12 for their second choice course and fl3 and fl4 for the third and fourth choice courses respectively This procedure should be repeated for each of the three campus not only for your most preferred campus

Please note it is the responsibility of individual students to contact their local ASP coordinator in advance concerning any issues regarding transfer of credit from ASP courses The Asia Summer Program Management Office (Japan) will be unable to furnish any enquiries on this matter Contact information for local ASP representatives and full course descriptions can be found on the website at wwwjosaLacjpasp2015

3 Program Selection

For all locations the Asia Summer Program offers two programs (l) academic program and (2) academic program + optional tour (additional fee applies) Clearly indicate the program you wish to join in the first item of this application

Academic Session + Yamanashi Trip = US $1150

These fees include course tuition materials for class work airport pick-up and see-off accommodations

3 meals per day during weekdays various other events comprising part of the program and local

transportation for the program

The additional fee of US $250 is required to participate in the 2-days and I-night tour to Yamanashi This

2days trip gives you a teste of the natural beauty ofMtFuji along with the fun and thrills ofJapans one

ofthe popular amusement park Fuji-Q Highland Amusement park Registration for the optional tour is

on a first-come first-served basis it will be closed once all 40 spaces are filled

PAYMENT METHOD AND DEADLINE

Applicants approved for admission to ASP 2015 must pay all required fees to their home university in

accordance with its policies and deadlines The ASP representatives from each participating university

must transfer the collected fees and send them together with all of the accompanying documents for

accepted applicants by May 15th 2015

VISA ISSUANCE

In cases where a Visa is required for travel to Japan procedures for its procurement will be explained or

arranged by the ASP representatives at the home universities Should an official invitation letter be

needed these will be provided on request following receipt of the necessary documents and registration

fees

Applicants and administrators are strongly advised to begin the Visa application process well in advance

ofthe programs commencement allowing at least one month for processing since a considerable

amount oftime may be needed

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants from participating universities are eligible to apply for admission into any of the courses

offered through the Asia Summer Program It should be considered however that all ofthe courses in

ASP 2015 will be taught through English a suitable level ofproficiency will be expected

Some of the courses may require certain minimum level ofbackgrounds interests and abilities In

particular they should carefully read each courses full description (available online) before selecting it

as one of their preferred choices

COURSE CANCELATION BY ASP 2015

Some courses listed as part of the Asia Summer Program may be cancelled due to factors such as low

enrolment or faculty unavailability Decisions will be made regarding courses to be canceled because of

low enrolment after Josai University receives all ofthe applications sent by the home universities by

April 26th 2015 In these cases students who selected the canceled courses will be asked to choose an

alternative course

CANCELLATIONS BY PARTICIPANTS AND REFUNDS

Notice of cancellation must be received in writing by the following deadlines and according to the

following conditions for eligibility for a refund of fees

Before May 31st 2015 Refund of 70 of academic program minus any bank transfer fees

Between June 1st and 152015 Refund of 50 of academic program minus any bank transfer fees

Between June 16th and July 7th 2015 No refund except in the following instances

a) The applicant was unable to procure a Visa despite early application

b) The applicant became seriously ill or otherwise physically unable to participate in the program

t Please note that specific documentation may be required to verify these conditions Please also note that no

refund will be issued in the event that a participant chooses to quit the program during these dates without

sufficient reason or is disqualified from the program through inappropriate actions

ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS

Josai University shall not be liable for fees associated with independently arranged accommodations or

with travel expenses incurred as a result of actual or expected participation in ASP 2015 including fees

for cancelation or rescheduling of hotels flights or other manners of transportation

Josai University shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance in whole or part of any of

its obligations arising from or attributable to acts events omissions or accidents beyond its reasonable

CAMPUS and COURSE SElECTION INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

FOR STUDENTS The ASP2015 will be held at three different locations (Togane Campus Awa Campus Sakado Campus) with each location following the same overall program schedule Each location will offer different academic courses according to the expertise of faculty staff based there Students will be placed at one location for the complete duration of the ASP2015 For logistical reasons changes to campus location will not be possible once the program has commenced It is strongly advised therefore that applicants carefully read the guidelines below and check the ASP2015 website prior to making their course selections

1 Location (Campus)

First applicants should select the location (Le campus) where they would prefer to attend the ASP2015 Please review the course list for each campus and rank your preferred campus in 1 to 3 order where 1 is your most preferred campus 2 your second preference and 13 your third preference Please note that due to enrolment limits at each campus an individuals selection does not guarantee a place at their most preferred location (campus) Applicants may be asked to join the ASP2015 at their second or third preferred location

2 Courses

During the ASP students take one course from the Group A list of courses and one course from Group B Enrolment for courses will be limited thus candidates should rank their preferred course in each group using 1 for their first choice 12 for their second choice course and fl3 and fl4 for the third and fourth choice courses respectively This procedure should be repeated for each of the three campus not only for your most preferred campus

Please note it is the responsibility of individual students to contact their local ASP coordinator in advance concerning any issues regarding transfer of credit from ASP courses The Asia Summer Program Management Office (Japan) will be unable to furnish any enquiries on this matter Contact information for local ASP representatives and full course descriptions can be found on the website at wwwjosaLacjpasp2015

3 Program Selection

For all locations the Asia Summer Program offers two programs (l) academic program and (2) academic program + optional tour (additional fee applies) Clearly indicate the program you wish to join in the first item of this application

CAMPUS and COURSE SElECTION INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

FOR STUDENTS The ASP2015 will be held at three different locations (Togane Campus Awa Campus Sakado Campus) with each location following the same overall program schedule Each location will offer different academic courses according to the expertise of faculty staff based there Students will be placed at one location for the complete duration of the ASP2015 For logistical reasons changes to campus location will not be possible once the program has commenced It is strongly advised therefore that applicants carefully read the guidelines below and check the ASP2015 website prior to making their course selections

1 Location (Campus)

First applicants should select the location (Le campus) where they would prefer to attend the ASP2015 Please review the course list for each campus and rank your preferred campus in 1 to 3 order where 1 is your most preferred campus 2 your second preference and 13 your third preference Please note that due to enrolment limits at each campus an individuals selection does not guarantee a place at their most preferred location (campus) Applicants may be asked to join the ASP2015 at their second or third preferred location

2 Courses

During the ASP students take one course from the Group A list of courses and one course from Group B Enrolment for courses will be limited thus candidates should rank their preferred course in each group using 1 for their first choice 12 for their second choice course and fl3 and fl4 for the third and fourth choice courses respectively This procedure should be repeated for each of the three campus not only for your most preferred campus

Please note it is the responsibility of individual students to contact their local ASP coordinator in advance concerning any issues regarding transfer of credit from ASP courses The Asia Summer Program Management Office (Japan) will be unable to furnish any enquiries on this matter Contact information for local ASP representatives and full course descriptions can be found on the website at wwwjosaLacjpasp2015

VISA ISSUANCE

In cases where a Visa is required for travel to Japan procedures for its procurement will be explained or

arranged by the ASP representatives at the home universities Should an official invitation letter be

needed these will be provided on request following receipt of the necessary documents and registration

fees

Applicants and administrators are strongly advised to begin the Visa application process well in advance

ofthe programs commencement allowing at least one month for processing since a considerable

amount oftime may be needed

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants from participating universities are eligible to apply for admission into any of the courses

offered through the Asia Summer Program It should be considered however that all ofthe courses in

ASP 2015 will be taught through English a suitable level ofproficiency will be expected

Some of the courses may require certain minimum level ofbackgrounds interests and abilities In

particular they should carefully read each courses full description (available online) before selecting it

as one of their preferred choices

COURSE CANCELATION BY ASP 2015

Some courses listed as part of the Asia Summer Program may be cancelled due to factors such as low

enrolment or faculty unavailability Decisions will be made regarding courses to be canceled because of

low enrolment after Josai University receives all ofthe applications sent by the home universities by

April 26th 2015 In these cases students who selected the canceled courses will be asked to choose an

alternative course

CANCELLATIONS BY PARTICIPANTS AND REFUNDS

Notice of cancellation must be received in writing by the following deadlines and according to the

following conditions for eligibility for a refund of fees

Before May 31st 2015 Refund of 70 of academic program minus any bank transfer fees

Between June 1st and 152015 Refund of 50 of academic program minus any bank transfer fees

Between June 16th and July 7th 2015 No refund except in the following instances

a) The applicant was unable to procure a Visa despite early application

b) The applicant became seriously ill or otherwise physically unable to participate in the program

t Please note that specific documentation may be required to verify these conditions Please also note that no

refund will be issued in the event that a participant chooses to quit the program during these dates without

sufficient reason or is disqualified from the program through inappropriate actions

ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS

Josai University shall not be liable for fees associated with independently arranged accommodations or

with travel expenses incurred as a result of actual or expected participation in ASP 2015 including fees

for cancelation or rescheduling of hotels flights or other manners of transportation

FORCE MAJEURE

Josai University shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance in whole or part of any of

its obligations arising from or attributable to acts events omissions or accidents beyond its reasonable

control

CAMPUS and COURSE SElECTION INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

FOR STUDENTS The ASP2015 will be held at three different locations (Togane Campus Awa Campus Sakado Campus) with each location following the same overall program schedule Each location will offer different academic courses according to the expertise of faculty staff based there Students will be placed at one location for the complete duration of the ASP2015 For logistical reasons changes to campus location will not be possible once the program has commenced It is strongly advised therefore that applicants carefully read the guidelines below and check the ASP2015 website prior to making their course selections

1 Location (Campus)

First applicants should select the location (Le campus) where they would prefer to attend the ASP2015 Please review the course list for each campus and rank your preferred campus in 1 to 3 order where 1 is your most preferred campus 2 your second preference and 13 your third preference Please note that due to enrolment limits at each campus an individuals selection does not guarantee a place at their most preferred location (campus) Applicants may be asked to join the ASP2015 at their second or third preferred location

2 Courses

During the ASP students take one course from the Group A list of courses and one course from Group B Enrolment for courses will be limited thus candidates should rank their preferred course in each group using 1 for their first choice 12 for their second choice course and fl3 and fl4 for the third and fourth choice courses respectively This procedure should be repeated for each of the three campus not only for your most preferred campus

Please note it is the responsibility of individual students to contact their local ASP coordinator in advance concerning any issues regarding transfer of credit from ASP courses The Asia Summer Program Management Office (Japan) will be unable to furnish any enquiries on this matter Contact information for local ASP representatives and full course descriptions can be found on the website at wwwjosaLacjpasp2015

CAMPUS and COURSE SElECTION INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

FOR STUDENTS The ASP2015 will be held at three different locations (Togane Campus Awa Campus Sakado Campus) with each location following the same overall program schedule Each location will offer different academic courses according to the expertise of faculty staff based there Students will be placed at one location for the complete duration of the ASP2015 For logistical reasons changes to campus location will not be possible once the program has commenced It is strongly advised therefore that applicants carefully read the guidelines below and check the ASP2015 website prior to making their course selections

1 Location (Campus)

First applicants should select the location (Le campus) where they would prefer to attend the ASP2015 Please review the course list for each campus and rank your preferred campus in 1 to 3 order where 1 is your most preferred campus 2 your second preference and 13 your third preference Please note that due to enrolment limits at each campus an individuals selection does not guarantee a place at their most preferred location (campus) Applicants may be asked to join the ASP2015 at their second or third preferred location

2 Courses

During the ASP students take one course from the Group A list of courses and one course from Group B Enrolment for courses will be limited thus candidates should rank their preferred course in each group using 1 for their first choice 12 for their second choice course and fl3 and fl4 for the third and fourth choice courses respectively This procedure should be repeated for each of the three campus not only for your most preferred campus

Please note it is the responsibility of individual students to contact their local ASP coordinator in advance concerning any issues regarding transfer of credit from ASP courses The Asia Summer Program Management Office (Japan) will be unable to furnish any enquiries on this matter Contact information for local ASP representatives and full course descriptions can be found on the website at wwwjosaLacjpasp2015

3 Program Selection

For all locations the Asia Summer Program offers two programs (l) academic program and (2) academic program + optional tour (additional fee applies) Clearly indicate the program you wish to join in the first item of this application

CAMPUS and COURSE SElECTION INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

FOR STUDENTS The ASP2015 will be held at three different locations (Togane Campus Awa Campus Sakado Campus) with each location following the same overall program schedule Each location will offer different academic courses according to the expertise of faculty staff based there Students will be placed at one location for the complete duration of the ASP2015 For logistical reasons changes to campus location will not be possible once the program has commenced It is strongly advised therefore that applicants carefully read the guidelines below and check the ASP2015 website prior to making their course selections

1 Location (Campus)

First applicants should select the location (Le campus) where they would prefer to attend the ASP2015 Please review the course list for each campus and rank your preferred campus in 1 to 3 order where 1 is your most preferred campus 2 your second preference and 13 your third preference Please note that due to enrolment limits at each campus an individuals selection does not guarantee a place at their most preferred location (campus) Applicants may be asked to join the ASP2015 at their second or third preferred location

2 Courses

During the ASP students take one course from the Group A list of courses and one course from Group B Enrolment for courses will be limited thus candidates should rank their preferred course in each group using 1 for their first choice 12 for their second choice course and fl3 and fl4 for the third and fourth choice courses respectively This procedure should be repeated for each of the three campus not only for your most preferred campus

Please note it is the responsibility of individual students to contact their local ASP coordinator in advance concerning any issues regarding transfer of credit from ASP courses The Asia Summer Program Management Office (Japan) will be unable to furnish any enquiries on this matter Contact information for local ASP representatives and full course descriptions can be found on the website at wwwjosaLacjpasp2015

For all locations the Asia Summer Program offers two programs (l) academic program and (2) academic program + optional tour (additional fee applies) Clearly indicate the program you wish to join in the first item of this application

FOR ADMINISTRATORS The filling of courses will be made on a first-come first-served basis according to the registration number on page one of this form (ie the order in which applications are received) Please ensure the first application received is assigned the number 1 the second application number 2 etc Further information about registration details and cancelation policies can be found on the ASP website

CAMPUS and COURSE SElECTION INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

FOR STUDENTS The ASP2015 will be held at three different locations (Togane Campus Awa Campus Sakado Campus) with each location following the same overall program schedule Each location will offer different academic courses according to the expertise of faculty staff based there Students will be placed at one location for the complete duration of the ASP2015 For logistical reasons changes to campus location will not be possible once the program has commenced It is strongly advised therefore that applicants carefully read the guidelines below and check the ASP2015 website prior to making their course selections

1 Location (Campus)

First applicants should select the location (Le campus) where they would prefer to attend the ASP2015 Please review the course list for each campus and rank your preferred campus in 1 to 3 order where 1 is your most preferred campus 2 your second preference and 13 your third preference Please note that due to enrolment limits at each campus an individuals selection does not guarantee a place at their most preferred location (campus) Applicants may be asked to join the ASP2015 at their second or third preferred location
