DEAR J-CAMP FAMILIES:We are pleased that you are considering J-Camp this summer for your child. Our numerous camp programs provide an excellent opportunity for children ages 2 to 15 to make the most out of their summer vacation. J-Camp has been a consistent source of high-quality summer programming for many years. We are excited to share this year’s wonderful offerings with you and your family!

Camp K’Ton is newly added this year for children 2 – 3 years of age. Space is limited! Camp begins Monday, July 1 and ends on Friday, August 23, 2013. This camp runs for 2 weeks per session with a total of 4 sessions (8 weeks). Children will engage in a wide variety of activities including arts & crafts, swim, sports, storytime and more. There are 2 options: half day from 8am - 12:30pm or full day from 8am - 6pm.

Camp Yeladim (for ages 3–5) is designed to encourage your child to explore his or her surroundings in new and exciting ways. Our summer camp curriculum allows children to learn through hands-on experiences, while still capturing the most exciting elements of the summer, such as swimming and outdoor play. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff takes great pride in offering your children a warm and caring environment that allows them to be creative, expressive, and outgoing. Your child will be transported into a thrilling world of new activities, games, and toys, all geared towards encouraging your child to learn through the use of his or her five senses. We will be offering one field trip for blueberry picking. In addition to Camp Yeladim we are offering 9 weeks of Specialty Camps that focus on enriching your child’s experience in the arts, cooking, drama and sports.

Camp Haverim (for ages 5–15) provides children with a wide range of opportunities to help them discover their perfect niche. If your child has an affinity for sports, theater, art, or science, then Camp Haverim’s Specialty Camps are sure to do the trick. Is your child always seeking the next new activity? If so, then the J-Camp Experience will offer just the right amount of variety to keep his or her curiosity piqued. With weekly field trips, art projects, time outdoors, and more, Camp Haverim offers fun for all while fostering self-confidence, self-esteem, and teamwork.

As always, all J-Camps offer excellent staff-to-camper ratios and emphasize safety, health and respect. Our well-trained staff members are eager to provide your child with the highest standards of care while helping your child create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

Jewish/Israeli Programing: This summer we are fortunate to have two Shlichim (Israeli Education Emissaries) to help with Jewish and Israeli programing in our Haverim camps through team games and activities. Programing at the Alliance focuses on universal human values such as acts of loving kindness, being our personal best, being a part of a team, communal and social responsibility, gratitude and humility, guarding the earth, and treating others with respect and kindness.

Swim: Campers enjoy swim at designated times. Swim lessons are taught by Red Cross Certified aquatics staff. Free swim is shared with our Camp Staff and monitored by Red Cross Certified lifeguards at all times in the pool.

Field Trips: Thursday is Field Trip Day for Camp Haverim. Camp Havarim, Camp Yeladim and Camp K’Ton may also plan occasional field trips throughout the summer. Parental permission is required and parents will be given notice in the weekly Parent’s Letter.

Food Policy: Camp K’Ton, Camp Yeladim, and Camp Haverim ask that you follow our kosher lunch policy and send your child to camp with a dairy or vegetarian lunch and snack. A list of suggested foods can be found in the Camp Haverim Parent’s Manual and at the Parent Information Center. Camp Yeladim and Camp K’Ton are nut-free camps. Please do not send your child with nuts or with foods containing nuts.

Medication: All Camper medication must be submitted to the camp office with a “Permission to Dispense Medication” form. Campers will not be permitted to carry their own medication. Medications will be administered by the Camp staff and a record of treatment will be kept.
