Streetwise is an arts and media careers fair that aims to bring together our students and graduates with employers from the creative sector in West London and beyond.
Streetwise plays an important part in meeting our goal to be one of the leading employer engaged universities in the country with a focus on an education that works.

Sonic Artists: Developing Musicians Skills for Obtaining Paid Working PositionsJon Perry will discuss the history of a working musician and his personal experiences. The skills required to enter a number of markets including session playing, cruise and hotel residencies, functions bands, solo’s, duo’s and tributes. The session will conclude with Q&A’s on how individual students can enhance and make their skills saleable.

Stage Miracles Nature of business: Event Crewing Company
Established in 1977 Stage Miracles are the UK’s leading supplier of Stage Managers, Stage Crew and event Personnel. We provide a complete range of services to the entertainment and corporate presentation industries using a diverse group of highly skilled staff experienced in a wide range of activities. With over 30 years of experience in this field we have worked in probably every major UK venue and with almost every major artist and live music related event. We help unload the trucks, move the equipment to the stage and work under supervision with the touring crew to rig and set up the show. During the event we supply staff to assist in a variety of roles and when the event is over we breakdown the production equipment and load the trucks. We do not offer full time jobs but offer work as and when we have it. We are happy to work around students university schedules and we are a flexible employer when it comes to hours / days worked. Stage Miracles has been one of
the ways into the live music industry for many and a lot of former staff members have gone on to become leading production managers, stage managers and touring technicians.

Theatrebugs is currently recruiting freelance teachers to facilitate our drama, music and dance programme for under 7’s in and around London and Home Counties. We are searching for fun loving, enthusiastic teachers who are looking to ignite the imaginations of children aged 3 months-7 years. Theatrebugs prides itself on instilling confidence and creativity in a manner that is fun and entertaining. Personality is therefore a vital factor for any Theatrebugs applicant. We are looking for bubbly, vivacious individuals with who can develop a kind, caring and patient relationship with the children and nursery school staff alike.
Excellent communication skills are essential. For those wishing to take on regular teaching positions with Theatrebugs we ask for at least a 6 month commitment. Regular teaching roles are unfortunately not suitable for jobbing actors, however we supply children’s parties and workshop assisting which are perfect opportunities for those pursuing acting careers. The Challenge (NCS) Nature of business: Charity
The Challenge is the UK’s leading charity for building a more integrated society. We work on a local level to bring together people from all ages, ethnicities and walks of life, connecting communities and building trust. The Careers Service can assist you throughout your time at university and after you have graduated. The Careers team provides impartial and confidential advice and guidance about the many options available to you, including work, placements, postgraduate studies and further training as well as advice on how to market yourself effectively to employers including completing job applications, preparing your CV and interview preparation. Graduates can use the Careers Service indefinitely after graduation.
Location: The Careers Service is based at “The Street”, which is on the ground floor of the St Mary’s Road Ealing site.
Careers advice drop-in sessions (15 mins drop-in with a Careers Adviser)Monday – Thursday, 1-4pm (booked appointments outside the drop-in times are by request).
