LESSON SEVEN: How was Stonehenge built?
Along with Skara Brae, Stonehenge is the most impressive relic of the Stone Age
Found on England’s Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, Stonehenge is a huge man-made circle of standing stones. Built by Stone Age people over many hundreds of years, it is one of the world’s most famous prehistoric monuments… And one of it’s biggest mysteries, too! Work started on this super stone circle around 5,000 years ago in the late Neolithic Age – but it took over 1,000 years to build. Archaeologists believe the final changes were made around 1,500BC in the early Bronze Age. The two great mysteries about Stonehenge, which remain unsolved to this day are: How was it made? and Why was it made? Let's see if we can solve them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy0CfYd1hWg
