What Have We Been Working On?

Ê Technology – using a document camera and associated software; Hom Ec (web info), Go Pro Camera (library).

Ê Planned what “enrichment” will look like with the new curriculum, especially with regard to preparing students for the new English 10 course (New Media/Creative Writing).

Ê Reorganization and development of PE Dance Unit

Ê We ended up having a great discussion on incorporating aboriginal issues into our courses

Ê We shared websites that we have found helpful. We found new sites, activities, songs ...that we can use in class - Languages

What Have We Been Working On?

Ê Plans discussed for workshops and student leadership lessons

Ê Discussed the scheduling, pace and textbooks for our first times teaching Science 8. Talked about how the ELO system affects our approach to those things and about what methods we could use to best reach this specific set of grade 8 students.

Ê Talked about the balance of content versus/including global skills and social-emotional safety

Ê We spent the collaboration time looking at a new way to in-corporate more student self assessment to match the new Home Ec criteria of student inquiry

Reflection

Ê The start to CT has gone well. Staff and students have now got into a routine of how CT looks at the school in regards to sign up and reflection (through online documents)

Ê CT committee must organize early in the year and outline roles (collecting data, reminders for sign up and reflection, organizing the data)

Ê The many discussions that are taking place during CT have provided the seeds from many good ideas that have been developed
