Steve Jobs was raised as a primeexample of this. The personal computer

by Apple, the Macintosh, which uses amouse and a simple graphic userinterface (GUI) was actually a conceptJobs borrowed from Xeroxs innovation

centre in Silicon Valley. The Macintosh was a success but Jobs

was hated in Silicon Valley, a placewhich prides innovation above all else.

The act of appropriating his idea fromXerox meant Jobs risked his reputationfor a product that worked.

Jobs' negotiation strategies are verywell reflected in his general persona.'Tactics' per se will not land anyone in

his shoes. He has an unwaveringconfidence in everything he's doing, and his track record very much

speaks for him. He makes thingshappen and, definitely in business, nobody can argue with results. At thesame time he carries himself with an

air dignity and humbleness in thepublic eye, which is a manner of'social aesthetics'. He knows how toappeal to his audience.
