Michael and All Angels (29th September)

command, they may help and defend us

on earth; through Jesus Christ your Son

our Lord, who is alive and reigns with

you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one

God, now and for ever.

Amen.

All are welcome to our Harvest Thanksgiving service as we come together to thank God for his generosity to us in creation and for all the fruits of the earth which he has provided for our enjoyment.

We will again be supporting the Cheltenham Foodbank with our harvest gifts. The Foodbank welcomes gifts of non-perishable foodstuffs as well as toiletries—particularly needed at present are tins of custard and rice pudding and also toothpaste.

You will also be able to make a cash donation to support the Foodbank using one of the envelopes available as you

enter St Mary’s or by means of the card reader situated by the entrance to St David’s Chapel. Please be generous in giving to support this

very worthy cause.

Covid-19 update The Prime Minister’s announcement of further restrictions on social gatherings etc. means that, at St Mary’s, we need to review what we do in church on a daily basis. Weddings and Funerals were mentioned in the PM’s statement but not Baptisms so, for the time being, the number of people allowed to attend remains at 30.

Regular church services are unaffected and so we will continue to celebrate Holy Communion at 10:00am and say Evening Prayer at 6:30pm on Sundays. Weekday services will continue with Holy Communion beng celebrated at 11:00am on Thursdays and Morning and Evening Prayer said daily in the Chapel.

All are welcome to join in any or all of these services—please come and join us.

Adrian’s Ordination to the Priesthood:

Sunday 20th September was a joyful celebration for St Mary’s as Adrian, our Curate, was ordained priest by the Bishop of Gloucester in the Cathedral and, in the evening, here at St Mary’s, he presided at Holy Communion for the first time.

Pictures of the ordination are available on the Diocesan facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=Diocese.of.Gloucester&set=a.3540138806043615
