Summer is well and truly over, along with thoselate nights and alfresco dining, but don’t bedespondent, St Donats Arts Centre has just theremedy to while away those wintery eveningsand shake off those winter blues.

Just a little taster of things to come as Septemberkicks off with Wales’ “Siren Sisters”, crooningtunes from the 40’s that will definitely have youstanding to attention; then we have theenigmatic jazz singer/songwriter JacquiDankworth performing a selection of songs fromher new album “It Happens Quietly”.

Fancy a jig or a polka then the Thingumijigs arejust up your street, with traditional Celidh musicand dancing and lots of frivolity. Guitarist SeanTaylor returns to the arts centre, but this timewith his band. This exceptional musician wentdown a storm the last time he performed, so ifyou didn’t get the chance to experience his musicand songs then make sure you book your ticketsthis time.

It’s Christmas! As we welcome our annual andever popular Crafts for Christmas Fayre onSunday 25 November then Sherman Cymru’sChildren’s Christmas show “The Snow Tiger” onTuesday 4 December. Wonderbrass return with a

heady but festive mix of music to keep us in thefestive spirit, and what festive season wouldn’tbe complete without the annual pantomime.Stage Door 1 our community theatre inresidence perform Jack & the Beanstalk. Oh yesthey do!

The New Year opens with more music from co-vocalists Paul Jones & Dave Kelly of Blues Bandfame; then we have Radio 2 Folk AwardsNominee Rosie Doonan, of which you can expectsome cheeky banter and some wonderfulmelodies; and last but not least, Stacey Kent,who we are delighted to welcome back after asell out concert here 5 years ago. Stacey returnswith her new album, “Dreamer in Concert”.

Stacey Kent sings from the soul. She tellsus her stories with her faultless phrasingand a lucid, enchanting voice. Stacey iscurrently celebrating the release of herthird album on Blue Note/EMI, DreamerIn Concert.

Stacey's band features ‘Jim Tomlinson’(saxophone). Together, their album, The Lyric,was awarded Best Album at the 2006 BBC Jazz Awards and Best Vocal Album in the 2007 Ronnie Scott's Awards.

Jim's songwriting partnership with famednovelist, Kazuo Ishiguro, has formed acentral plank in Stacey's recent albums,which, alongside the Great AmericanSongbook, gives Stacey's repertoire auniquely broad and fresh sound.

Born in 1975,Francesco Attesti is an Italianpianist of international acclaim and isconsidered, among his generation, one ofthe finest interpreters of the Romantic andearly 20th century repertoire. He performsregularly in St Petersburg, Moscow andSalzburg.

This concert will take place in the historicBradenstoke Hall of St Donat’s Castle andwill include works by Chopin and Liszt. Acomplimentary glass of sparkling winewill be provided during the Interval andthe audience are welcome to wearevening dress if they so choose.

Trio D’ Anches Trio D' Anches is a Chamber music group at theParis Conservatoire. Gillian Taylor Oboe, PeterFielding Clarinet and Christopher Vale Bassoon,are colleagues who have regularly playedtogether in the Orchestra of the Welsh NationalOpera. The programme will be drawn fromoriginal works by Ibert, Milhaud, Walthew andBurtch as well as good arrangements ofstandard pieces.

St Donats Atlantic Chorale Formed three years ago this community-basedchoir has built a reputation for enjoyable,laughter-filled rehearsals and excitingperformances. With a repertoire that coverseverything from oratorio to pop songs andstretches from the 13th to the 21st century thischoir has something to please everyone.

Film and Fashion exploring the lifecycle of thehat: from original stimuli and design, to textileexperimentation, to the final product. Exhibitingthe hat not only as a garment but also as asculptural form.

Andy Cragg – Visual Artist

A Cowbridge artist workingwith colour, texture andabstract landscape. Paintingsare influenced by the lines andslices of landscape in itsabstract, conjuringrecollections and moods of

places past, present and invented.

Sue Srinivas

A designer for nearly 20 years, SueSrinivas has developed a very uniquestyle, employing a range of techniquesand media to produce evocative mixedmedia landscapes and expressiveportraits.

Many landscapes are local scenes withvibrant colours bringing the scenesalive, something developed in reactionto the seemingly widespread belief thatSouth Wales is a dull place, whilstreally being full of beautiful areas andlandmarks.

How to Book TicketsOur Box Office is open 10am-4pm Monday to Fridayand evenings and weekends (when there areperformances) from one hour in advance of publishedperformance times. You can book tickets online atwww.stdonats.com or at the box office, by phone01446 799100 or in person.

Please bring your booking reference with you to collectyour tickets from the box office. We accept all majorcredit and debit cards, a booking fee will apply and youcan post your tickets for 50p. We no longer acceptcheques as payment for bookings. All tickets must bepaid for at time of booking, tickets cannot be reserved.

Refunds and exchangesWe regret we cannot refund tickets however we canexchange for another event. Tickets for exchange mustbe received at the box office at least 24 hours before theoriginal performance.

Reduced price ticketsReductions apply to senior citizens, students in full-timeeducation, registered disabled, wheelchair users and theircompanion, unemployed and 16s and under. Please bringproof of entitlement. Group discounts are available whereindicated. The management reserves the right to introducediscounts and other price changes without notice.
