Message from the Senior Warden

As a reminder the suspension of public worship continues until May 31. Some counties in Missouri are beginning to open May 1 in a logical progression. This does not include St. Louis County where we experience the most number of cases for the state of Missouri. We are hopeful that the suspension could be lifted for the first week of June but the determination will be contingent on a prescribed set of milestones that must be met before our officials will lift the stay at home orders. I hope that you are all finding as I do the recorded services a joy. I feel close to all of you even though we are apart during this difficult time. I am so grateful to the St. Barnabas Video Production team for their continued efforts. Since the pandemic stay at home orders and suspension of services started we lost three dear ones: Yvonne Jones, Pat Hoppe, and Sylvia Robbins. I ask for your continued prayers for these families who have not yet had the opportunity to remember their loved ones and celebrate their lives in a memorial service. We will work with the families to schedule memorial services as soon as we are able to resume public worship.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL ST. BARNABAS MOMS!

On the second Sunday of May, would have hosted the Mother’s Day Brunch after the service. Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to honor our Mothers in that way. We are however honoring all Mothers with an array of flowers taken on the St. Barnabas property. Please enjoy and thank Moms for all that you have given for your children. Please know that even though we are not able to be together this year, we are thinking of you. We love you all.

In addition to the floral picture tribute to our Mothers, we are including some other pictures from around the buildings and grounds. I hope you enjoy them. You will notice the picture of the St. Louis Strong banner. Many thanks to the Grames family for purchasing the banner. The proceeds from the purchased banner went to area food banks. Thank you Grames family for your encouragement to and support of the community. I am also pleased to announce that $800.00 was raised by my daughter Allyse through Fallon’s Tap and Grill in Ellisville where she works, and donations from friends and just other folks. Allyse was concerned for the many children in the Ferguson Florissant School District families that depend on school meals. She began collecting the money to donate directly through the school district. That proved to be a tricky matter, so the money was donated to the St. Barnabas Hunger Fund and a check was written to T.E.A.M. May God bless you and keep you safe. Dennis Haefner Sr. Warden
