Pro-Life Answers to False Pro-Choice Arguments “There are other issues just as important as abortion such as the homelessness, health care, poverty and the economy."

This philosophy is generally advanced by two groups of people. The first group is closet pro-abortionists who fully realize that abortion is terribly wrong and want to avoid revealing their position on it. The other group is luke-warm pro-lifers who are looking for some way to justify their own inaction on abortion, or, more often, to justify voting for a pro-abortion politician.

By equating abortion with other social ills, they are attempting to neutralize the abortion issue and silence pro-lifers.

To expose what a scam this really is, just ask one of these people if they would ever vote for a white supremacist on the basis that race is just "one of many issues."

Obviously, there is no denying that America faces many societal problems. However, if abortion is the taking of human life----which most definitely it is, and even the most die-hard advocates of abortion have to admit-----then our country is engaged in the largest holocaust in history.

To suggest that the wholesale slaughter of approximately 60 million children (since 1973) ----a number which increases by more than 3,000 each day----is even in the same universe as tax policy, homelessness, poverty, or any other issue, is both heartless and indefensible.

Epiphany Message from the Pastor

Dear & Good People of

Ss. Peter & Paul,

Happy and Blessed Epiphany to all of you and your families.

This year, our Christmas season ends early, with the Baptism of the Lord being celebrated tomorrow. That makes today the last Sunday of the Christmas Season.

As we gather to hear once again the story of the magi, let us reflect on its significance in our own lives, and pray for the grace to recognize where God is being revealed to us today.

Friends, "Lift up your hearts!" bids the Church at every Eucharist. Epiphany bids us today, "Lift up your eyes!" above limiting boundaries of worldly wealth and anxious worry.

Behold the star, and worship the King it announces: Jesus, our Eucharistic food, who welcomes our worship here and awaits our service to the innocent who suffer still.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK:

To what "strange lands" might God be inviting me to travel in this New Year to discover Christ? What gifts will I bring with me to offer there? 2017 Jubilee Year of Our Lady of Fatima - And, the Granting of the Fatima Jubilee Plenary Indulgence

The Holy Father has announced a Plenary Indulgence granted in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Apparitions and Message of Our Lady of Fatima:

a) To the faithful who visit the sanctuary of Fatima on pilgrimage and devotedly participate in some celebration or prayer of the Virgin Mary, pray the 'Our Father', recite the creed and invoke our Lady of Fatima.

b) To the pious faithful who visit with devotion an image of Our Lady of Fatima, solemnly displayed for public veneration in any temple, oratory or adequate place, on the anniversary days of the apparitions (the 13th of each month May-October or on Five First Saturdays to participate in some celebration or prayer honoring the Virgin Mary.

c) To the faithful who due to their age, illness or another serious cause, are hindered of moving, if repented of all their sins and with the firm intention to carry out, as soon as possible to them, the three conditions indicated below, in front of an image of Our Lady of Fatima on the days of the apparitions, joining spiritually the jubilee celebrations, offer in confidence to the merciful God through Mary their

prayers and pains, or sacrifices of their own life.

In order to obtain plenary indulgences, the faithful who are truly repentant and filled with charity must fulfill the following ritual conditions: Sacramental Confession & Eucharistic Communion (within about 20 days) and prayers for the intentions of the Holy father.

Friends, what a wonderful opportunity and honor to be alive to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Our lady of Fatima and understand more deeply the messages of Our Lady We will be hosting several celebrations and special days of prayer learning to truly follow our Lord Jesus Christ through the loving and gentle faith of Our Blessed Mother who always leads us closer to her Son.

Peace and All Good,

~ Fr. Tony Cirignani, OFM
